He's the British comedian who delights in making movies that humiliate Americans. I'm not particularly fond of his work. He also has bad teeth -- but then again -- he is British.
His latest movie is about a gay Austrian fashion reporter and one particular scene was filmed in Arkansas. I'm not all that familiar with the Razorback state, but I suspect they don't have an abundance of gay fashion reporters among the general population.
Mr. Cohen is suspected of staging two fake cage fights that nearly caused riots. According to the Associated Press, hundreds of people showed up for "Blue Collar Brawlin'." It was billed as lots of cage fighting and one dollar beer. What the fans got were two men ripping each other's clothes off and kissing.
Let's just say that sort of thing doesn't happen very often at the state fair grounds in Texarkana.
The next day, the fake fighters showed up in Fort Smith. It was there that the two fighters engaged in behavior that nearly violated the city's morality laws. Folks in Fort Smith responded by hurtling their one dollar beers in the ring. "They had beer in plastic cups," one of the cops told the AP. "Those things can get some distance on them actually."
It took about 45 minutes to clear the room -- and the two fake fighters ran for their lives.
It's a good thing Mr. Cohen didn't pull that kind of stunt in Alabama.
