Well, the Starnes Birthday celebration continues, getting started last night with a bang. Had an amazing dinner at New York's newest culinary masterpiece --- CraftSteak. I decided to head down to Chelsea after checking out The New Yorker's review. I've always had a fondness for Ruth's Chris, but CraftSteak sure knows how to cook a cow. Food so good, it'll make you want to slap a vegetarian.

For the ill-informed, CraftSteak is owned by Tom Colicchio --- he's the host of Top Chef. Let's just say we're not talking about the all-you-can-eat steak buffet at the Sizzler.

The decor is modern (incredible floor-to-ceiling windows) and the food is plentiful. Given the choice between corn fed beef and grass-fed, go with the grass. No celebrity sightings, but, I finally discovered the Chelsea Market. The market also known as Mecca for fans of the Food Network. Turns out, it's across the street from the restaurant on 10th Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets.

Had great dinner conversation with my good friend Blake --- one of the most prolific artists I know --- and a fellow Baptist who hails from the Sooner state.

Tonight, it's all about jazz. Heading over to Lincoln Center with friends for dinner and a late show. Will give details later.

Until then, better hunker down. Just peaked outside my window and there are whitecaps on the Hudson River. A blustery day in the Big Apple!
