Fallon Apologizes For Bachmann Insult

UPDATE: Jimmy Fallon apologized tonight via Twitter for Michele Bachmann’s musical introduction. “I’m honored that @michelebachmann was on our show yesterday and I’m so sorry about the intro mess. I really hope she comes back.”

Somebody needs to teach NBC how to treat a lady.

Republican presidential contender Michele Bachmann received an incredibly rude welcome Monday night on Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night.”

As she walked on the stage, Fallon’s house band played a segment from a 1985 Fishbone song called “Lyin’ Ass Bitch.”

Bachmann (R-MN) gave no indication she knew what the song was or the lyrics as she waved to the crowd.

The Associated Press reported that “Roots” bandleader Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson has a history of using obscure song choices as Fallon’s guests are introduced.

Fallon later joked on Twitter that Thompson was grounded.

Bachmann’s campaign did not have an immediate comment to the derogatory nature of the song. It’s too bad that Mr. Bachmann doesn’t deliver his response to the bridge of Fallon’s nose.

So far, neither NBC nor Fallon have issued an apology to Bachmann.

Can you imagine if the network had pulled a similar stunt with First Lady Michelle Obama or Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

NBC is not commenting and Fallon doesn’t appear to have the fortitude to respond. So allow me to fill in the blanks.

NBC — you disgust me.

As for Fallon, what’s there to say about a man who earns his living playing make believe? He’s a sniveling, inurbane court jester who degrades women.

I believe it was Katharine Hepburn who once opined that “acting is the perfect idiot’s profession.”

If that’s the case, I’d say Fallon is at the top of his career.

You little man.

  1. If you EVER want to know how a liberal TRULY feels about a minority, let alone a woman, see how they treat them when they're Republican…

    Well said, Todd!

  3. Well said, Mr Rozier!

  4. Hey Todd, but it's okay to boo the 1st Lady and 2nd Lady at a NASCAR event….you are a hypocrite! No way to treat a Lady or Ladies in my book!

    • Who boo'd the 1st & 2nd lady at a NASCAR event? The people putting ON the show? We can't stop people at the event, freedom of speech, you know? We can, though, stop participating in anything presented by professionals that we disagree with. Freedom of speech, I agree, for them, but there are consquences.

  5. Incredibly stupid thing to do. I will not watch NBC anymore – even for football.

  6. Atta boy, Todd! Keep up the good work. Regards, and have a great Thanksgiving. Come back and see us in Georgia.

  7. Those who can, do. Those that can't, teach. Those that can't do or teach become actors.

  8. this is so typical how our society has become so disrespectful and crude…sure didn't make me like Fallon..never will watch his show again….the 'truth' is out u numb nuts!

    • Respect is something one has to earn. There are several questions I would like to offer: 1/ who is Jimmy Fallon? 2/ does Mrs. Bachmann care if Mr. Fallon respects her? And foremost: Why in the world would Mrs. Bachmann appear on Mr. Fallon's show? Either a poor use of precious time, or poor advise about audience selection. Once again one of our candidates showing how not to get elected.

    • Henrietta Peterson ……its called simple' respect'……….something this country is severely lacking…whether u are 'for' Bachmann or not….its simple respect…………Most americans don't find what happened humorous, and I would defend any 'person,' male or female being made fun of on national TV…………

    • Jean Mohler As it happens, I do like Mrs. Bachmann, and I do agree with majority of her views. In my opinion, she would be most acceptable as our president. All I am trying to say is: when you lay down with dogs you have to accept that you will get flees. Try to take your emotions out of this. I think, what you are driving at is the lack of good manners. Good manners should be on display even when you do not respect someone's views or convictions. Yes, our society lacks good manners. Everyone should be entitled to receive good manners, nobody may demand respect unless they earned it.

    • Henrietta Peterson ..emotions?…I call it an 'opinion'…………showing respect for other's opinons is good manners…………Have a wonderful Thanksgivings……:)

    • Jean Mohler Once again, respect has to be earned. However, displaying good manners I say: You have your opinion, and I have mine. And as you, in the South say, "that's nice". So, thank you for your opinion, it is interesting. Wishing you and yours very best, this Thanksgiving Day and always.

Talk about low class and low character. Fallon has nerve sitting there on a respectable set, dressed sharply in suit and tie. If Fallon were to show his true character, he would be laying in stinking slop, dressed as a pig. Maybe then would guests be forwarned as to what to expect from his show.

  10. Thank you for exposing these munchkins. Good work. I'm glad you were outraged and brought the fact forward.

  11. Good ole Katharine Hepburn, "acting is the perfect idiot's profession." This explains Ronald Reagan tripling our national debt as President.

Nixy time Michelle Obama is on with Fallon they should play lyin ass bitches wife.

  14. Now that Mr. Fallon has had the "fortitude to respond', are you going to apologize for your seven insults and your one second handed physical threat of a punch in the nose(by someone who you yourself said…had no comment)? All this in one short page about how treat someone with respect.

This guy must be a muslim, that's the way they treat their women.

  16. fallon is a no iq brain dead gutless piece of shit someone should neuter him this world does not want this idiot to reproduce if you watch him you cant be any brighter than he is and this network No Brain Shitheads.
