Are Liberals Delusional?

Are Liberals Delusional?

By Dalton Glasscock

I turned on my television last night to watch the Democratic National Convention — and for some reason it felt like I was transported to another dimension — especially compared to last week’s Republican gathering in Tampa.

So here’s my question for the Left — are you delusional?

Democrats speak of lowering the debt –but the moment they hit the gavel to begin their convention the debt had officially hit the “Not So Sweet 16.” $16 trillion.

Democrats speak of fair pay between men and women yet…in the Obama White House women earn 18 percent less than men in the same positions.

Democrats speak that they are for the people… yet support the killing of millions of unborn Americans — in what is supposed to be the safest place; the womb.

The Democrats still use the slogan “Change.” Really? It’s been four years since your “fundamental transformation of America.” How much longer do you need?

The Obama Administration has “changed” a few things. Unemployment on Obama’s first day was 7.8% now America’s unemployment rate is 8.3%. That’s not the kind of change I want.

On the president’s first day on the job America’s debt was an outstanding $10.626 trillion.

Want to take a guess at what it is now?

It’s a $16 trillion. $16 trillion that my generation and my children’s children will have to pay.

Even Gov. Martin O’Malley, who is considered a possible Democratic contender in 2016, knows the economic is in the toilet.

“Can you honestly say that people are better off today than they were four years ago,” he was asked last week.

“No,” he replied. “But that’s not the question of this election.”

Excuse me, governor — but THAT IS THE QUESTION OF THIS ELECTION.

Why choose four more years when the past four years have failed?

What kind of arrogance must you have to believe you deserve four more years.

If you are willing, follow my blog this week. But be warned – I am fired up.

In President Obama’s words I am a gun-toting, Bible-clinging American.

Excellent article by a young man upon whom the debt load of our nation will fall… he has a REALLY great grasp of what is going on in our nation.

The Dems are a trainwreck waiting to happen. They never met a tax they didn't like; they have more respect for endangered species and plants than they have for the unborn; they want to punish success and demand that what you earn with your backbreaking and sweat – the honest way – should be divvied up and given to those who don't know what hard work is all about and are all for free handouts; they believe in breaking and bending our immigration laws and selling out our sovereignty to people who violate our laws and who have not earned the right to be here; they brag about job numbers and that things are turning around and meanwhile things are worse than they've ever been the last four years; they keep us beholden to Mid East oil when we should be self sufficient, but in the meantime they have no problems with the Russians and Chinese are drillling in our back yard; they announce a time table of a pull out from Iraw and Afghanistan to our enemies, and claim credit for the execution of OBL when the credit belongs to the real men, the real American patriots who did the dirty deed that no politician would do themselves hands on; they brag about change when change is a deviation from the American way of life to the socialist way. We are now at the apex of politics as it concerns the future of this nation. November will decide if we preserve the American way or go off course into dangerous territory with government consolidating control over our wallets and our lives, and basically ushering us into a brave new, terrifying world.

Socialism is the Democrats way to bad they r blinded. They cry freedom and less government involvment in their lives but wat they will get is no freedom and goverment that will tell them wat, wen, and how the can live. Its a shame that theses ppl r so blind

"In President Obama’s words I am a gun-toting, Bible-clinging American." You also missed the part about being a squawking broken record and belonging to the amalgamation of petulance cheering for a culture of ignorance and self righteousness.

  8. Dawn George. It amazes me that the Democrats want to have another four years of this total Idiot sitting on his throne. He already believes he's God.He could care less about woman, children or the poor.He looks down his nose at anyone who does not agree with him.If we have another four years of Obama, we might as well kiss our asses good-bye.Excuse my language but this is the honest truth.

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

Dawn George.Wake Up America–I think we just leaned who's "delusional".

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz it's head is full of Communist fuzz. It lashes out, like an ignorant tout and without a doubt, a Demoncratic lout!

  9. Here is what is delusional, blaming Obama for the national debt. It's risen 41% under Obama (and 2009 budget is Bush owned, folks). However, it rose 89% under "W" and 188% under Reagan. The 5 trillion everyone is talking about? Roughly 400 billion a year is interest on debt accumulated BEFORE Obama took office and the remainder of it is programs that were started with Bush that he didn't discontinue, like the tax cuts and two wars for example. An eye opening article:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/adding-to-the-deficit-bush-vs-obama/2012/01/31/gIQAQ0kFgQ_graphic.html

    • Ha.. you won't last long on this site. Starnes will block you, all because you tell the truth and it doesn't fit the narrative.

  10. And if last article isn't eye opening, then this article in Forbes (not exactly left leaning) show Obama spending the lowest since Ike Eisenhower. If you swallow all the BS the republican politicians give you and Fox news gives you without a challenge, you all are doing yourselves a huge dis-service as voters. I don't like big government either, but I HATE liars much, much more:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/05/24/who-is-the-smallest-government-spender-since-eisenhower-would-you-believe-its-barack-obama/

  11. Suppose you make the median income of roughly $49K. Your spouse divorces you and hands you a credit card bill with $32,666 in charges and $1306 in annual interest payments and you never charged a single thing on the credit card. Even worse, your statement shows that, over the next 4 years, another $8,000 in reoccurring charges from all kinds of services that you can’t discontinue. After 3 ½ years, would it make sense that the credit card bill would grow by the 41% you thought it would? Should your employer fire you for your indebtedness?

Comparison is based on Barak Obama stepping into office with national income of roughly 15 trillion, national debt of roughly 10 trillion, interest on national debt roughly 400 billion. Reoccuring charges based on chart below. So which of Bush’s programs should Obama have fought harder to end so that he wouldn’t be voted out of office for supposedly “inflating the national debt”? The 1.4 trillion on two wars? The 1.8 trillion in tax cuts that he extended? Inquiring minds want to know.

Increases to the national debt since taking office:

    Obama 41% Bush II 89% Reagan 188%.

There is plenty of blame to go around. What matters is what we do now. And nothing BHO has said or done convinces me that he even cares about the debt.

    • Ha! Bill Clinton said it best: "The republican position is this: 'We left you a massive mess, you didn't clean it up fast enough, so now we want to get back in again." Obama presented a plan to clean up 4 trillion in debt, congress wouldn't touch it in an election year.

    • Mandy Rowe Fife /

Dems haven't even passed a budget in three years. Yep, totally committed to fiscal responsiblity. And we all know Bill has no problem with lying.

    • Jay Shepherd /

      Tony Julian
      Yes, republicans are delusional.

    • Mandy, you said that "nothing BHO has said or done convinces you that even cares about the debt". There is a debt plan that you can read on the internet that reduces the debt by 4 trillion. Of course, it would be helpful if congressional republicans read it. Moreover, if you have the ability to fairly judge the president at all, you have to examine republican congressional culpability in the equation. How much of a chance does a Obama budget have of passing when Mitch Mconnell says that their number one goal is , not to work with Obama (which they never did), but to ensure he doesn't get re-elected?

    • Mandy Rowe Fife /

Mitch McConnell doesn't control the Senate–Harry Reid does. Easy to forget. It's also easy to forget that the Dems controlled the house and the Senate for two years. Oh yeah that's right…..hmmmm….where were all of these debt-cutting ideas then? He was too busy cutting back room deals to pass Obamacare.

It's foolish of you to think that the problems Obama found in the economy could have been completely dealt with in his first 2 years.

Oh, I see. Since Clinton said it, it CAN"T be true, huh?

See, this is what shows the ignorance of the conservatives better than anything else. They have no argument against the statement so they have to attack the speaker.

Classic logical fallacy, but then again, who ever accused the right wingers of having logic?

I never said he could have solved all the problems in two years. I made the argument that he didn't try while he had a majority. He was too eager to pass his liberal agenda while he had the chance. And now he is so eager to tackle jobs and the economy but oh no….darn Republicans, its all their fault. But instead of debating me on that you gave me the new left-wing talking point christened last night by Bill Clinton. Classic liberal distration. I mean, why would we want to talk about his actual record?

    • Um, Mandy? There weren't debt cutting ideas because the economy needed government spending to stimulate GDP (and whether you stimulate through government spending or stimulate through a tax cut, it creates debt…think ARITHMETIC). The fact is that the current republican controlled congress has done squat. And when the right fails to have an answer for Clinton, they use words like "womanizing scumbag, as if the name calling is an adequate indictment of his intellectual arguments.

Wow–I refuse to agree with you–so you insult my intelligence, could you be more of a liberal stereotype? The entire point of Bill Clinton's speech was "I did a great job (btw by cutting taxes and regulations–weird) so TRUST ME when I say that BHO will do a good job." My point was that perhaps I don't find him to be the most trustworthy person. Sorry if that point was over your heads.
Obviously we will never agree–so you guys go ahead and vote again for BHO. Go down in history as the most gullible voters in the history of time. I at least hope he gave you a thrlll up your legs last night.

You seemed to think that Obama should have started slashing government spending and reducing the deficit in the first two years of his Presidency.

That's what you alluded to, and that is why I said you don't seem to know much about economics. That was absolutely NOT what was needed during that time.

It's true that NO ONE could have repaired all the damage in just 4 years, but Obama has us headed in the right direction. Let's see what he can do in the next 4 years. There WILL be someone else in there after that.

    • Tony Julian What you read is not always fact. How long are the Democrats going to blame Bush?Obama has been in Office for 4 years. He shoved Obama care down our throats and then printed more money for his Stimulus that only raised the debt to about 16 trillion dollars. As for pretending to care about women, that's even more laughable. He wants the woman's vote and once he has it he'll toss them aside like trash. He is a respecter of no one but himself.People are losing their Jobs like never before. How do you expect them to feed their families.Mandy is right.Obama had the Majority and did nothing but sit on his hands or play golf and hang out with Movie Stars. This man is cutting our Military,so does this make us safer? We will be attacked again and I believe it will be very soon.Who will fight for us?Obama bows to our Enemies so do you really believe they fear us?They believe this President is weak and so far he's proved this in every thing he says and does.there is no place in his heart for God,Country or the Constitution.I,m a woman by the way,who has lost my home and my health.I do not want Obama Care. He's for abortion or rather the murder of Gods children.Same sex marriage he was against but because he wants the votes,he now believes it's okay. You think the debt can't get any higher?Just vote Obama back in and we'll owe trillions more.It will be too late for America to recover.

    • Dawn George, it would be helpful if instead of saying "what you read is not always fact", you would actually challenge the specific facts themselves and tell us why you think they are wrong. In my case, they are airtight: debit figures come from treasury, spending from cbo. Yes, the debt went from 10 to 16 trillion dollars, however 400 billion a year of that was interest on debt that accumulated before Obama ever stepped foot in the white house. Then another massive chunk of that spending was during Bush's Budget that Obama had not choice but to preside over. You are dead wrong when you say "people are losing their jobs like never before". When Obama walked into office, the job loss was 750,000 a month. Since his programs took effect, he's had job GROWTH for 39 months straight. And they did't "sit on their hands", they presented both a jobs and debt reduction package to congress that THEY WON"T SIGN! On the military, Romney wants to give the Joint Chiefs money they don't even want! Obama doesn't bow to anyone and I think the fact that we are willing to actually go to hell or high water to get Osama Bin Laden should instill plenty of fear in our enemies, but if we hadn't removed a democratically elected leader and replaced him with the a brutal dictator in the Shah, Iran wouldn't be our enemy in the first place. If we didn't declare unconditional love for Israel, perhaps the Palistinians would have seen us as an honest broker. I would have liked to known how other countries would have seen us if our CIA didn't have the history that it does. Saying "people just hate us" is massively massively ignorant. The rest of your tirade about there being no place in his heart for God, Country, or the Constitution, and killing god's children doesn't deserve a response because, like most republicans, you don't provide facts and name call and then expect the rest of us to not treat you as the ignorant, fox news brainwashed, inferiority complex driven group that you truly are.

    • Tony Julian Obama came in and instead of doing the things he promised he made things so much worse then they were. The Stimulus and Obama care ,plus our economy. What has Obama done in his first 4 years as President? He needs to stop blaming everyone but himself.Cutting our Military leaves us so weak as a Nation and the Terrorist are sitting back and laughing their you know whats off at America.Another four years of Obama will be another four years of the same.Mingling with his Holly Wood cohorts and the richest of the rich,Partying and Vacations for himself and family to the most expensive places around the World, that the tax payers are footing the bill for. Gas prices are out of sight and so many Americans just trying to feed their families. We are losing our Religious Freedoms and yet he kisses up to the Muslim Faith. What about our Christian beliefs? What happened to this once great Country? My insurance just went up again and I'm low income.Groceries are sky Rocketing.I'm an elderly woman with Cancer and my greatest fear is for my children and Grand children who will be paying for all the debts this President will be laying on them.Doctors and the American people do not want Obama Care and yet he has shoved it down our throats. He will stop at nothing ,just like a spoiled rotten child to have his own way.I pray America wakes up before the Election, because if Obama is reelected America is Doomed.May God Help Us and may God Bless Israel.

    Dalton,
I don't want to hear about you taking a DIME in student loans to go to college. That's a big GOVERNMENT PROGRAM, so, unless you are completely dishonest, you will not take out any student loans.

Hopefully, you will go to college, and take some economics courses, and maybe, just maybe, you will learn something and see the error of your young ways.

  13. Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

Keep arse-kissing and brown-nosing, Dalton! Keep pushing the lie that the Right is truthful when every major new organization found numerous, repetitive, and BLATANT LIES in the RNC convention speakers!

Keep whipping the Liberal strawman! You'll go far in the Republican Party that way!

  15. Republicans claim to want to "protect th eunborn", but they don't give a you-know-what about children once they are born. This is pure hypocrisy. The democrats want to PREVENT as many abortions as possible by providing much more help tot he poor, and poor pregnant women. Abortions are oing to happen anyway, whether they're legal or not, and there is absolutley no way to stop them by makoing abortion illegal. More abortions happen in countries where it is illegal than where it is legal.
If the US government makes abortion illegal again, the abortion rate willOINCREASE GREATLY.

    • For Robert Burger.Yes we do want to protect the unborn who have no voice, but we also love our children.I have no Idea what you are talking about. Are you saying that Democrats love their children more then the Republicans love theirs.Did you not hear about the abortion clinics where you can walk in and if your pregnant with a girl and want a boy they'll abort that little girl. You are so totally off the wall when you say it's the republicans who want Big Government.I believe Obama has already proved that he wants it all.My Health Care went up a couple months ago and I'm low income.I thought Obama said Obama care would cut cost for the low income and middle class. You're living in a Dream World.Hope you wake up soon.

    • @ Robert Burger and just how much has the Demoncrats done for you sir? Why do you come in here and spout ridiculous tripe and regurgitate the politics of evil, the killing of the those who need protection the most, the unborn!

You sir and your filthy ilk are the reason this country is in the toilet, socially, financially, and morally!

You talk of hypocrisy when you support the murder of the unborn, while human tragedies walk the streets supported by socialist programs that further their deplorable condition so they can be used as the "victim vote".

Folks, here is a perfect example of the naive brainwashed liberal socialist that has no clue as to the realities of the destructive garbage it is supporting while wallowing the sewer of it's own making!

  16. The republicans hypocritically claim to want "limited government". But in fact, they want unlimited power fo rthe government to be free to pry into the bedrooms of Americans and into women's reproductive organs. Some "limited " government! According to the republicans, "all men are created equal", except gay people and non-christians – and women!

    • Hey Robert-FB is always asking me to suggest friends for you. Feel free to raid my friend list anytime.

    • So Robert do you use KY, butter, or cooking oil to lube yourself up before taking the Democratic penis up the anus?

Just asking because we are going to take up a collection for you if you can't afford it, rather than have the taxpayers pay for same as this not covered by your Food Stamp card!

  17. And while we're on the subject of "delusional", can any of the so called "family values" crowd explain to me why the following statement is an "apology for American values"? If you can't, then can you admit that your presidential candidate is a scumbag who will sink to obfuscating a day of mourning for his own political gain? Here is the statement:

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."

Lets try a different tact Mr. Romney. Like, oh I don't know, saying, "Our heart goes out to the families of Americans lost today in these tragic attacks." Then, shut the F up.
