A Philadelphia high school teacher is under investigation after she reportedly ordered a student to take off a t-shirt supporting Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign and compared the shirt to a Ku Klux Klan sheet.

The incident occurred at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond. When the student refused the order, she tried to throw the girl out of class.
The teacher reportedly told the 16-year-old student that the high school was a “Democratic school” and then threatened to use a marker to cross out Romney’s name.
Philadelphia School District spokesman Fernando Gallard confirmed to Philly.com that, “a teacher made some comments to a student wearing a Romney t-shirt in their classroom.”
“The comments were of a political nature, and also of a personal nature,” he told the newspaper. “We are looking into the comments, and the conduct of the teacher.”
Gallard said the student was well within her rights to wear the t-shirt and was not in violation of any school dress codes.
In the meantime, the teacher was switched out of the class “to allow the student to feel comfortable to come to the class.”
Gallard said the student was within her rights.
“She was expressing her freedom of speech, and was not in violation of any school or district policy,” he told the newspaper.
The incident became public when the child’s father called radio station IQ 106.9 FM.
Richard Pawlucy told radio host Larry Mendte that the incident happened on a day when students were allowed to “dress down.”
He recounted what his daughter’s Geometry teacher told the girl.
“Are you seriously wearing a Romney shirt — and then she told her to get out,” Pawlucy told the radio station. “My daughter took it as a joke. But the teacher left the room and called other teachers and students into her classroom.”
She said the teacher pointed at his daughter and said, “Look at this girl — wearing a Romney shirt.”
“My daughter refused to leave the classroom or acknowledge this bullying,” he said.
That’s when the teacher compared the Romney shirt to a KKK garb and told her, “This is a Democratic school.”
“I never knew a school had a party affiliation,” he said.
When his daughter went back to class she hid in the bathroom until the teacher left. He said other students were taunting her.
“Her classmates were telling her –‘how can you do this to our teacher?’” he recounted. “Why don’t you like Obama? We all like Obama – why don’t you like Obama?”
Mendte was astounded by the incident — especially since it happened in the city where they signed the U.S. Constitution.
“A child shouldn’t be bullied going into a classroom just because she’s politically aware — just because she has an opinion and just because she happens to support a candidate that you do not support,” Mendte said.

I have a possible solution to this. Split the country in two. All Democraps move to one side, Republicans to the other. Who wants to wager which side of the country would excel, be productive and have the largest number of successful citizens? The other side will be in the gutter in 90 days as the working class will implode under the weight of the entitlement class.
The only problem would be weeding out the democrats that tried to sneak over the Republican side.

This is just another example of the indoctrination methods used by these union bullies in our tax payer funded schools. The teacher should be charged with violating the civil rights of this Child and barred from receiving any tax payer funded benefits. But since she is a supporter of the O'Bamanation she will probably get a promotion and have the child suspended.
Actually all important US figures were KKK members and Republican Presidents other then a small few joined the KKK follows right winged politics and that is exsactly what republicans follow now they are all right winged. The KKK was founded the same year as the NRA. Also Nearly all of congress was dominated by republicans and they even had a problem with that and it was marked in the history books because of the domination. Lincoln did free the slaves but still very much a racist he did not do it for the slaves as much as he had to because other states were breaking away from the union and by default he would free the slaves and it was not by choice and even then blacks were treated bad and Lincoln is credited with being the founder of the republican party.
That's odd, since the KKK was a arm of the DNC, Did their dirty work got rid of republicans and black republicans, used collateral damage too hide what they really were doing and working for, MLK, a member of the communist party, adulterer , did it all to acquire paychecks for those in the civil rights movements from the American taxpayer, If all will notice , the blacks whose claim too fame , all are unemployed , sponge off the taxpayer, Al are Parasites.

The vast majority of comments say the teacher should be fired. But any time a story like this breaks you get someone like Mark Snyder who selfishly worries if the next step will be to ban faggot pedophiles from teaching. The answer Mark, hopefully yes. Guess you will have to work at starbucks.

Not that it'd make much of a difference to the school, but I sent an email to the principal to express *my* opinion and exercise my freedom of speech rights by telling her what I think of this. The teacher didn't have an email listed on the school website or I would have contacted her directly. This story is disgraceful; a teacher should not threaten a student who is simply expressing her right as an American to freedom of speech. The teacher has shown her true colors as a teacher of hate and should be fired. It sickens me when people are threatend for there beliefs whatever they may be. The right to freedom of speech is a right that is at the very core of our Constitution. It's a right hundreds of thousands of Americans have fought and died for since we became the USA. This teahcer has disgraced all those brave men and women by saying that it is not allowed and the teacher should be held accountable.

The principal is also at fault as she has allowed a culture at this school in which a staff member believes this behavior will be tolerated.
Fire that teacher! Bullying a child is a topic that's been in the news forefront this year and now we hear of it by a teacher. Many years ago, I taught for four years in a junior high school in Pennsylvania. What this teacher did is inexcusable! Teachers are supposed to be LEADERS, and they are to be ROLE MODELS for the students. My students looked up to me when I was their teacher. What a horrible EXAMPLE is displayed here!

I'm no romney fan but this is despicable. No teacher should do that to any child. I swear, public schools are brainwashing mills, that's it.. period.
I live in Pa and should have a lot of people with Romney/Ryan t shirts go outside the school either when teachers are going to work or leaving work. I would love someone to come up to me and sy anything to me about my shirt I bought and paid for. I hope and pray that Obama loses Pa and that would show that ignorant teacher.

I hope that this was a young and inexperienced teacher. She lost an opportunity to talk to her class about the freedoms we have as Americans to express our own views, and how hard we had to fight (going back to the Revolutionary War) to get and keep those rights. And the student would not have felt bullied and set apart.

WTF? What is this, I thought we wanted our younger generations to get involved in things of this nature. This is a great thing that a 16y old was taking a point of view and expressing her self. The teacher involved was clearly showing a lack of maturity and in every way should feel ashamed of ever expressing her self in such a way. This teacher should not only be fired but banned from teaching at a school for at least a period of time. To realize the how damaging this is not only to the single student she pointed out but the effect it will have on the entire class involved. Our children are taking in everything they see or hear as they grow even if they them self don’t realize how this will effect their out look only life.

Not only should the teacher be fired, her name should be publicized, regardless of "union" rules. Somebody knows her name, and I hope they post it. Public shaming is THE most effective way to deal with this type of mentality. This person should not be able to walk down the street without everyone knowing she is a child abuser. Verbal abuse may not warrant a criminal charge, but it can certainly warrant a "scarlet letter."
My son is in 6th grade and his history teacher made them watch the debate in class and pointed out how well Obama did and that Romney is a "Stupid Fool"…My son was so upset but he says he see what Democrats sound like now…He is learning young
