“Yes, there are some limitations that can be imposed,” Scalia told Fox News Sunday. “It will have to be decided in future cases what limitations upon the right to keep and bear arms are permissible. Some undoubtably are.”

In 2008 Scalia wrote that the Second Amendment means what it says – that people have a right to bear arms.

    WOW, THAT'S a surprise?

I never thought THIS half-a-bag-of-rocks would ever utter some common sense when it comes to guns! I'm sure that the NRA will "put a hit" on him though, and pressure him to change his mind. Money talks to Conservatives louder than common sense, in most cases.

  2. If there is any question about the right of the people to keep and bear arms, perhaps we need another ammendment clarifying that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Maybe if it's written twice – they'll get it.

  3. we have to many spineless judges that are running our country, this is how we lose our civil liberties, the liberals and cowardly judges chip away and chip away our rights thru over reaching regulation, until we have no rights, liberals and atheist call our country a theocracy, when in fact is a liberal left wing judgeocracy!

  4. juge scalia was one who I knew you could trust but now he takes a dive, since when is it up to our suprem court to regulate americans, if the supreme court continues to go down this chickens_ _t road , then its time we the people vote in office all of our judges from the lowest court to the highest court because they have become politions, they are afraid of the left wing media, of the obama admin., never before have I seen a supreme court judges that are corrupt and a mass of jello cloaked in a judges gown and who have descatrated the constitutional document that thay swore to uphold.

This is already going to be cause or concern. Take away guns, might as well take away anything and everything that can be used to kill which equates to everything we use in daily life like knives, bats, crowbars, glass, ropes, cars etc. What his all amounts to is penalizing aw abiding gun owners because of what some loose canon does.

Why does "regulation" automatically mean "taking away" in gun rights people's minds? Keep your legally obtained handguns and your rifles meant for hunting. Why does anyone need to own an AK-47, assault weapons, or anything more powerful? The founders didn't intend for everyone in the country to be armed to the teeth. The most powerful weapon available at that time was a musket. Somehow I doubt they foresaw half of the weaponry available today, much less would they be willing to endorse ownership for all. There should also be no issue with additional background checks. Anyone willing to legally obtain a firearm should be patient enough to wait a few days to get it if the checks in place can assure that some psychopath doesn't end up with one. Seems like a fair tradeoff to me.

But Jesus said to keep a stockpile of guns…isn't that what the Bible says? You know the book the Constitution was based on? Anyone?

I have an enormous amount of respect for Justice Scalia! He manages to balance his beliefs while defending our Constitution!
