I think both parties have made some morally wrong choices Erik. BOTH parties. I'm simply saying to involve children in any way in subjects that are beyond their comprehension, beyond their capacity to fully understand, is morally wrong. Get a grip and stop twisting people's words to start a fight.
While I do not condone homosexuality, I am never disrespectful to those who are. The biggest problem with this performance is not that a child is being taught right from wrong, or that it was videotaped. The biggest problem is arrogance of the congregation. If they believe that homosexuality is wrong, they should mourn for the sinners, not be gleeful about casting them down.
We are no better than anyone we disagree with. It is not for us to be smug and judgemental. If believe someone is in error, we need to build a bridge to them and show them the truth. (As we see it.) The truth is never contained by self-righteous haughtiness.

Erik, I just watched the ad you linked from the RNC. Do you really believe that this ad is anywhere near the level of the O song ad? They are nowhere near to being on the same level. I hope that you were kidding when you brought that up as a comparison. The two are not even apples and oranges; they are more like road apples and oranges. At least road apples can fertilize. I do not mean to disparage road apples.
Chris Young , no I'm not kidding. Both ads use children. Both ads use hyperbole in the case of the opponent winning (and both are completely stupid for that reason). The main difference is that one was produced by the Republican National Committee and the other was produced independently (not part of the official campaign).

Kelly, while I believe Erik is off-base, he does not come off as a hater. I also do not see him being impolite (not nice). I would also add that this is a fantastic format to discuss differences. It is my goal to win over others through logical arguments. Calling people names rarely achieves that goal. The point at which we start calling people names, as an attempt to win an argument, we have lost.
I would encourage you to face misrepresentations with facts, and let each person choose as he/she will. I would also argue that any attempt to win someone over to the truth is not a waste of time, even if they are mean. I just don't see that with Erik's posts. Perhaps I missed one.

Chris I would respectfully disagree on several points, but that's what makes these boards great! Someone who twists other people's words and taunts people to start an argument, is not here to discuss his point of view. I find that behavior to be hateful, (not nice) and disruptive to those who are attempting a rational discussion. While "hater" may have been a little strong, the word attack was dead on. It is, in my opinion and here's one place we differ, unfortunately, impossible to help those who don't want to see or accept the truth, because the truth is, we all believe our truth is THE TRUTH.
I would submit to you that there are actually three sides to the truth. When everyone is being honest, there is your truth, my truth and THE TRUTH. We all come at any given subject with our own perceptions of what we, see, read, heard, lived, etc. I would also point out that if you are arguing, you have both lost at communicating your point. That's why I say an attempt to rile someone by twisting words and saying that they are guilty of a double standard is not a productive discussion on your (in this case Erik's) part.
