A group of Occupy Wall Street protesters disrupted a Right to Life rally and threw condoms on Catholic school girls inside the Rhode Island state capitol building.
GET TODD’S NEW BOOK ON THE CULTURE WAR – “DISPATCHES FROM BITTER AMERICA”
Barth Bracy, executive director of Rhode Island Right to Life, said their rally had to be cut short after the Occupiers began screaming and refused to allow a Catholic priest to deliver a prayer.
“This is their idea of civil speech but we believe it’s an outrage,” Bracy told Fox News & Commentary “They started heckling, chanting and blowing whistles. They shouted down a priest.”
Last week’s rally was held inside the rotunda of the state capitol in Providence. Bracy said the Occupiers, along with some pro-choice demonstrators, infiltrated the crowd of some 150 pro-lifers. He said the pro-life crowd was made up of senior citizens, mothers with young children, Cub Scouts, and school kids.
Bracy said one of the most egregious incidents occurred when an Occupier climbed to the third floor balcony and dumped a box of condoms on girls from a Catholic school.
“What kind of individual throw condoms at Catholic school girls,” Bracy asked.
Bracy said capitol police were outnumbered and overwhelmed by the protesters. At one point they even attacked State. Rep. Doreen Costa.
“This was one of the most disturbing sights I’ve ever seen,” Costa told Fox News & Commentary. “It was horrendous. “
Costa said a female Occupier hit her on the head with a sign and shoved her “moppy” hair in the lawmaker’s face.
“I told her that she really stunk bad and needed to take a bath,” Costa said.
Costa said she was “speechless” when they showered the young girls with condoms. So was Father Bernard Healey, the executive director of the Rhode Island Catholic Conference.
“It’s disgraceful behavior,” Healey said. “The week before, the pro-abortion people had their rally and no one bothered them. Apparently freedom of speech only applies to those who agree with you.”
Healey called the protesters “mean-spirited” and “ugly.”
He was trying to deliver a blessing to the crowd when the demonstrators shouted him down.
“I led the crowd in singing ‘God Bless America’ to try and down out their awful chants,” he said.
Joseph Little, the chief of the capitol police, told Fox News & Commentary that he did not receive any reports of condoms being dropped on children. He also said to his knowledge, nothing happened to that rose to the level of needing to call in additional support.
Little said no one was arrested.

I refer you to Ann Coulter's book Demonic that describes the left's mob mentality such as this.
With all due regret I have just been informed that the LOVE OF MY LIFE has been diagnosed with CANCER.
Yes I know that at her ripe old age of 237 years it should be expected but still she's young compared to the rest of the WORLD.
Cancer cells have eaten up all of her California region with NO CHANCE OF REMISSION, the Detroit area along with Chicago are gone, the cancer has kil led all of the living cells nothing is left but corrupted muscle tissue that will have to be removed.
The Washington area part of her brain is barely hanging on, the Democratic Doctors of 'HOPE and CHANGE' TEAM have tried but all of their Obamacare treatments of Stimulus shots and drugs have all been useless or FAILED.
But there's different HOPE and CHANGE coming from the Republicans Doctors who possibly have a cure or a chance to slow down the riotous decay but time will tell.
She is in a very serious critical state right now and according to the Doctors the Next few months are the most CRITICAL if she is to have any chance of SURVIVAL and getting back to her old self again.
So I'm asking for your prayers to help her and US through these devastating times of ours.
VOTE like your Life and Future depends on it come this Nov.
Sincerely Yours
their behavior reminds me of my 2 yr. old when he does not want to go to bed. I have a feeling that they are just throwing fits, because they cant stand when people prove them wrong, or step on their poor little toes. Sorry but nothing is free you lazy excuses for human beings get a job, and take a shower.
Class Act.
Ahhh the "civility" of the left…. Such a pleasant sight to see sloth and welfare coming together to form a opinion. Truly a sight to see/smell.

Let them throw condoms at my grand daughter and they will find I am locked and loaded. I beleive they have the right to peaceful protest, but they cross that line and I hope they come here and try it. We are tired of them, go away Commies or we will rid you from the planet.

If this story is accurate, then obviously these Occupiers were being out of hand and inappropriate. One thing people should realize about Occupy, though, is that anyone anywhere can form a group, take action in their community, and call themselves Occupy. That level of inclusiveness and autonomy has benefited the movement overall, but the flip side is that one incident like this can override a hundred positive actions in the public eye. You see it in the large protests in big cities, too: a handful of troublemakers often manage to find their way into the spotlight, and that's who you hear about the next day.
Now, I'm not saying that any of these people should get a pass, either from the public or from the mainstream of Occupy itself; they don't. But I do want to encourage you to think critically about how this stuff is presented in the media. This particular story, for one, is conspicuously one-sided, despite the fact that Occupiers have never been reticent about talking to the media. Note how explicitly the quotes selected for the article reference established right-wing media memes regarding both Occupy and liberals (they don't bathe, they don't respect free speech, they don't value prayer, etc.). Everything about this article is geared to be more inflammatory than informative; it's hard to get a sense of exactly how the events played out, because the focus is less on what happened than on how it made people feel. Then there's this video, which comes packaged with an overt anti-Occupy message but appears to show a very different version of events from what's presented here (I couldn't even find the condom-dumping after repeat views, but I might be missing something): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB5GXlXNOJQ.
Beyond this one article, though, think about the overarching narratives that are presented re: Occupy. How much of your understanding of its goals is filtered through media presentation: through selective reporting, selective quoting, and editorializing? I don't think it's any secret that media outlets like Fox have a particular narrative about Occupy that they want to promote, and choose their stories accordingly. But "liberal" media is just as bad: MSNBC, for example, is ostensibly sympathetic to Occupy but mostly just pays lip service to the vaguest populist threads of the movement, without seriously engaging with the philosophical arguments that underpin those populist slogans. Now ask yourself, do YOU know what those arguments are? You know the popular right-wing narrative has been that Occupiers are envious of other people's success and want everything given to them for free. Is that something you believe, that unfocused class envy has sparked nearly six months of nationwide protests with no end in sight? That Americans have faced arrest by the hundreds because of a misdirected sense of entitlement? Or…is it possible that there's more to it than that? And if there was, how would you know?
There's more I want to say but I have to cut it off at some point. I'd like to hang around and discuss this stuff further though. My only request is that you're civil and respectful in your responses to me…looking at some of these other comments, that may be asking a lot, but I'm confident that most of the people reading this are normal adults and don't mind acting like it.
I'll do my best to be civil
I'll bet you are a college professor or in a phd program. Come on
tell the truth. To your credit you did an excellent job of damage control for the OWS. But, most anyone with a small bit of common sense and life experience can see that you are trying to cover for the liberal left. To say that the OWS folks "don't get a pass from the liberal media or liberal politcians" is comical. At any rate, your comment was an interesting read. Unfortunately it may sway some poor soul to believe that the OWS movement is really ok and maybe even cool and serving a purpose for real social justice. When you and I (and most other folks) know that the OWS is just a rabble formed and controlled by the far left for its own dark purposes.
Rob Vanderford Aspiring professor, actually. Just finished my undergrad this past year, hoping to start on my masters this summer. I don't know if you meant that as a compliment, but that's how I took it, so thanks!
To clarify a bit, I do agree that liberal sources tend to overlook the bad things some Occupiers do, just as conservative sources tend to overlook the good. Both are trying to promote their own self-serving narratives. What I meant was that people who do stuff like this should be held accountable. More relevant to my point, when something like this happens, there's an immediate backlash WITHIN Occupy: survey some of the Occupy social media networks, and you will see many more pleas for civility and discussions about how to distance the movement from violent radicals than you will anarchist cheerleading. You have to realize, too, that the extent to which Occupy can hold its own people accountable is inherently pretty limited; it's not like you can kick them out of stick them with a fine. Like I said, anyone can do anything and call themselves Occupy, and no one can really do anything about it. Still, this stuff is demonstrably outside the mainstream of the movement, yet it's what you hear about the most. There is a reason for that.
Re: being "formed and controlled by the far left", this is a claim that's baffled me since day one. The Tea Party always had aggressive backing from both Republican PACs and right-wing media, but was mostly treated as a grassroots movement (which, in fairness, it largely was, to the extent that populist sentiment was still the driving force behind it). Occupy, by all appearances, was grassroots from its inception and was largely ignored by the MSM until some media outlets and politicians decided to co-opt it for their "own dark purposes", yet there just HAS to be some shadow Marxist pulling the strings.
Here's the thing: if Occupy is getting funding from Soros or whoever, I couldn't tell you where the hell the money's going. These protests aren't exactly well-funded affairs, and promotion and communication has occurred almost exclusively through free social media. I can tell you that my local chapter, which has close ties to the regional Occupy hub in Atlanta, hasn't seen a dime. The simple reality, whether or not you agree with the politics, is that Occupy consists of a massive number of hard-working, well-educated people who are highly cooperative and capable of complex organization on the fly. If that seems to conflict with the prominent "lazy mob of entitled hippies who don't know what they're protesting for" meme…well, you draw your own conclusions.
More importantly, if the mainstream left is supposed to be controlling Occupy, they're doing a pretty poor job of it. In fact, the notion that Occupy is a pro-Obama/pro-Democrat thing may be the single most aggressively false piece of that constructed narrative I keep talking about. Political affiliations within Occupy are extremely diverse, and you'd be hard-pressed to find much enthusiastic support for the President (though some certainly exists). It's a politically diverse group interested more in broad systemic change than in party politics, and I can tell you outright that few among Occupy believe Obama will be the one to deliver that change. If he and other Democrats want to adopt vaguely Occupy-like rhetoric for their own ends, they can do that on their own time. Do a search for explicitly pro-Obama signs and slogans at Occupy protests and websites, then do one for anti-Obama images; see what you come up with!
Again, not trying to win anyone over to the dark side here. Just encouraging folks to think outside the convenient set of memes handed down by the MSM.

Lovely
all the catholic school boys were watching to see which girls picked up the condoms LOL.
I hope they keep it. It's nice when people show who they really are. Makes it easy to choose what side you're on.
And how many times have Right To Life radicals physically assaulted people at abortion clinics? You idiots.
Now that's new. That has got to be the first time a liberal immediately responded to a comment with name calling! WOW! First time for everything!

The OWS team was acting unreasonably and I regret that. I wish they would spread their message in a more positive manner.

Unfortunately, when this was announced on the radio this morning, the commentator said at the end of the story that if someone dumped condoms on his daughter, he wouldn't think too much about Pro-life. It made it sound anti-Pro-Life when he was done reporting!
Follow the money! These clowns are the tip of an emerging Communist plot to destroy this country. Follow the money….George Soros.
So many people just don't get it..
Why is there no video of this man's account? With all the people there, in this day and age, I find it hard to believe someone didn't catch this on their iPhone. You people are sheep to believe this story.
Here we go again with the "you people", are you all stuck on the first page of the far left play book? Even if this story is not completely accurate, you can't say wth a straight face that the OWS folks aren't capable of doing it. I would suggest you at lest turn to page 2 of "Left Wing Liberalism For Dummies" and get a new line… "you people" indeed!
Rob Vanderford Well, Rob…When I am referring to all the people that are posting on this thread that they believe this story, then yes…I believe my nomenclature is correct. I did NOT say ALL republicans, did I? I referred only to those who believe this story.
I will state, however, that when republican readers don't care to try to discuss or dispute the topic at hand, they will more often than not throw in non-sequiturs, such as yours, into the conversation.
Have a good day, sir.
Just watched the Video yes OWC and Pro-Choice was there but NO condoms dropped, no whistles blew, no disruption to the Pro-Life rally except opposition signs with no speech. Now if condoms were dropped don't you think the local news would have pictures?
Showing their true colors – real classy!
If there was a problem, why did they not report it to the police instead of to Fox News and Commentary? This is yet another one sided article designed specifically to anger conservatives. If you are "fair and balanced" where is the voice of the other side? The police got no reports of problems and while on hand didn't think they needed to intervene. Either these people, with everything to gain by exaggerating the event are doing just that, or they are purposefully lying. Either way, you people are being manipulated by the media.
"you people" really
I could hardly understand your comment…you seemed to be choking on left wing koolaid
givemeabreak, "you people" indeed!
That just proves what extremist these liberals are!! They are as bad as the Muslim extremists!! Pretty sad that these catholic girls can't have morals!! You people disgust me!!
Let us not forget, Pelosi, Reid and Obama support these people. While Obama is clearly a christian, he was a muslim for many years and does have a soft spot for islam and he is not a support of our nation or Israel or capitalism. Time for a change ANYONE BUT OBAMA for 2012.
The OWSers will not stop until they alienate everyone. That's the only good that can come from them.
Wow, we're not too keen on accuracy are we? After very minimal research I found out that this was a Rhode Island Sexism League protest, Occupy Providence was busy cleaning the park and opening a new shelter.
This is why these left wing, unhinged lunatics are scorned and ignored by most Americans…This type of despicable behavior is typical of these fools, and only marginalizes them and their bs "message" further than it already has been…They're pathetic.
Occupy Wall streeters are the dregs of society…A pure Communist movement..Let's see ( Especially since they compare them to the Tea Party ) The Occupiers seem to have a knack for Rape, Murder, think Hardcore drug use is acceptable AS WELL as putting small mom and pop businesses near their rat and sewage infested encampments out of business..And vandalism…Why do we put up with them…
If only all the OWS protesters used those condoms, we would be rid of their tainted gene pool within one generation.
Right on Michael Ryan. If these idiots are foolish enough to throw things at my child, they should expect to be treated harshly. Turning the other cheek has gone on for too long and their problem is they weren't spanked enough when they were little. I suggest we correct that oversight.
This is exactly what is wrong with our country today, no respect for your fellow citizens and their beliefs.
what happened to "We the People"?
Throwing condoms like this goes way past the right of free speech, if the police had the courage they should have arrested this OWS crowd for assault. It doesn't matter whether it's a condom, a rock or anything else that's thrown, it's still assault.
This is a perfect reason for "conceal and carry". No one throws crap at you if they think you might have a 9mm on your hip.
Wow! This was the most despicable and disturbing acts of this radical group! If they support 1st Amendment, then why they disrupted the the prayer? What hypocrisy the OSW really is!
Typical liberal scumbaggery. I have a great idea: Before anyone decides to think they know what's best for the country, contribute something tangible first. Ever notice that a lot of liberals are artists and welfare recipients, who contribute virtually nothing to our society or per capita GDP?
Instead of begging for handouts from a failed President or philosophically contemplating how great a currency-free economy would be, go find a job and stop contributing to domestic terrorism. In case liberals didn't realize it, I'm fairly certain that throwing condoms at underage minor children for the sake of political ideology is terrorism is you decide to take a peak inside of a dictionary. Then again, I guess you'd have to either buy one or use the Internet, neither of which is covered by government assistance.
Here is the irony of all of this Occupy stuff. They claim they are protesting because they are the 99% and want a distribution of wealth. They claim they are there because they can't get jobs. But if someone was to offer them a Wall Street job they would shower, shave, buy a new suit and a Ferrari so fast you wouldn't be able to keep up. They are all hypocrites!
Nothing like a bunch of gutless cowards hiding behind police protection. Liberals are the maggots of society. Try that shit without the police protection and you might get some respect.

The right to lifers use violence to put their point across. Probably shouldn't throw condoms at children, but what did the adults do to provoke action?
You know it's time we deport the OWS people!
where will we send them? we've got mayflower descendants and members of at least three indigenous tribes in occupy providence. so, shane, what do you think? to the moon?
Susan O'Connell Let's send them to Cuba. They think the feds should provide everything, let em have it.
To the occupiers-THANK YOU! It's about time us pro-choicers stand up to these oppressive Republikkkans. My next question is WHY are there little girls at a pro-life rally?? What parent would allow their child to be subjected to such a hateful group? Those poor kids are being brainwashed from birth, no different then Muslim terrorists, except our brainwashers are fighting to take rights away from women, which is simply disgusting. Those parents should be ashamed!
Proud to be a bigot?
More evidence that "Occupiers" are just a bunch of hoodlums whose soul purpose is to create pandemonium. The sooner the aurhorities run them out everywhere they try to set the better.
Carolyn – I'm thrilled that someone FINALLY used the word I've been waiting for! "Evidence" – there isn't any. No one from occupy providence threw a condom. No "catholic school girls" were assaulted.
Susan O'Connell Everyone is so enraged about this pure propoganda, I am stunned! There is NO evidence ecxept this one story, repeated over and over.
So no"Occupy People" were arrested for assault on minor girls in the State Capitol Building. We need the 99% to also follow the Law that 100% of us are bound by.
What was it they said about Tea Party protestors?
no one was assaulted.
Not quite sure a baseball bat is in order but I certainly wander why this was not called assault on a child and arrest made. If I witnessed this I would defend the children with non lethal force. America has become slaves to the liberals and it is time we come together to stop it.
because it's a lie. no assault = no arrest.
Providence RI. is a VERY Italian city, a Very OLD SCHOOL Italian city, and it seems time for these protesters to visited by some Old School Wise Guys, for some Good Old Fashioned Justice…. how much you want to bet some of those Catholic school girls are related to some Old School Italians with Connections? Say Goodnite Assholes!
To bad the parents of the "occupiers" didn't use one themselves… problem solved.
that is halarious. catholic schools are one of the worst things you can do to a child. go occupiers!
I find it funny that OWS attacks usually involve people that can't really defend themselves. Here in Chicago we walked by the 30 or so protesters during lunch time a month ago. When they saw 5 grown men coming thier way, the cleared a path. They are nothing more than a bunch of whiney no-goods that want a free lunch. They do need their butts kicked as it seems to be the only thing they understand. Playground bullies change their ways as soon as their is a bigger dog in the fight.
