President Obama will surround himself with children when he announces to the nation his proposed gun control policies, the White House said Tuesday.
The president is expected to provide details of the plan tomorrow at 11:45 a.m.
He will be joined by children around the country who wrote letters to the president in the wake of the Newtown tragedy, spokesman Jay Carney told reporters.
President Obama is weighing as many as 19 different gun control measures that he could take without congressional approval, as he prepares to unveil a comprehensive plan on Wednesday to address gun violence amid claims from Republicans that he’s overstepping his bounds.
Carney stressed that Obama believes a “significant” part of the plan would include congressional action, but declined to specify what actions the president might take via executive order.
