It's yet ANOTHER OBAMA PLOT to initiate a move to take away our GUNS! Protect our Liberty! Fight for our Freedom to shoot anyone, anywhere!
Don't let them take away our rights to snap and use high-capacity magazines to solve our emotional problems!
Support the NRA and their patriotic agenda! MORE GUNS! MORE GUNS! MORE GUNS!

No, FACT. The Rightwing loonies are ALREADY posting similar comments on other boards. From "The Blaze" site:

This is tragic, but remember GUNS DO NOT KILL PEOPLE – PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE!

An armed society is a polite society!!!(I MEAN THE GOOD GUYS HERE, NOT THE NARCS or the misguided FEDS…)

Don‘t forget about July 27th and the UN trying to ursurp OUR CONSTITUTION’s 2nd AMMENDMENT!!!

This event IS a distraction and will be used against our CONSTITUTION.

Let FREEDOM ring, never give up, never give in!"

The shooter is reported to have had an AK-47, which–as a deer hunter myself knows, you DON'T need for hunting. But yet the sick acolytes of the rabid NRA Gun Culture here in America will undoubtedly STILL say "There's no need to examine the problem of assault rifles in America". What a buncha extremists with their heads in the sand.

    • Your comments show you to be a person without conscience and soul. In a time of tragedy, you demagogue and politicize. I feel sorry for such a person with no honor, no compassion, and no shame.

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

Funny, Robert, but I'm not unable to put aside the pressing issues of national (lack of) conscience when people are dying like this more and more frequently, while Rightwing demagogues like Starnes pontificates about "where refuge and strength can be found" while the policies of the extremist that he supports contribute to his type of horrific bloodshed in America. If that's not worth pointing out to the clueless, I don't care about your characterization of "honor" one bit.

    • you are simply proving my point. A real human being would say "my thoughts, prayers and condolences to the victims and familiers."

What do you do? Attack the "right wing". NO SHAME.

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

My feelings go without mentioning. My rage and anger toward the Rightwing is entirely appropriate as the facilitators of keeping these kind of weapons of mass destruction on the streets.

Condolences and useless prayers are meaningless when actions could have sufficed to possibly prevent such a senseless tragedy–or prevent one from happening in the future.

Hey, how much you wanna bet that we'll see NO new calls for the re-examination of our lax gun laws? How much you wanna bet the NRA will use this to fundraise?

    • Tim Gale /

Robert Bryan, what he's doing is getting of his knees and proactively bringing to our attention one of the underlying causes as to why this happened in the first place. Let's deal with it now! Your thoughts, prayers and condolences ultimately mean nothing to the dead.

Thanks, Todd Starnes for reminding us of where our comfort and strength can be found.

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

You "take comfort" and "strength" from…….WHAT!!??? A "God" who once again le evil and death reign down on innocents?! ON CHILDREN?!?!

Honesty–is the world just gone insane, or is it me?!?!

    • Jenni Rust /

      It's just you. =)

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

Would you take "comfort and strength" Jenni, if that cute little baby in your avatar photo were shot in the head? Would you be sanguine about "God's mysterious ways"? Or "God's plans"?

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

That's the weakest, lamest excuse for an impotent God I have ever heard–but entirely predictable. You know what I think? I think those kids and good people are just growing cold in a mortuary bag right now. They're just…..dead. No "comfort" or "strength" in that cold hard fact.

    • Thierry Nightbird /

Ah, you only believe in God for the bad things. huh

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

I don't believe in "God" at all. And if one as impotent and uninvolved as the one that Christians purport is "all-powerful", "all-knowing" existed, I would call him "evil".

We have "Good Samaritan" laws that require people to act when they can to prevent the commission of a crime; we have laws that penalize people who knowingly allow crimes against children to occur; we CERTAINLY characerize and ostracize such individuals as "morally responsible" and/or "cowardly"–why are you not willing to hold your "God" to the same simple standards which our society has deemed valuable and correct?

  4. Joel Rivera /

Todd, your right, but some people will start to politicize this tragedy until their the next victims. Only a cold hearted monster devoid of humanity could have notone iota of an issue pulling the trigger and taking a life. Hate certainly has consumed this individual, but as for now, it time to remember the dead and pray for the wounded as well as all families related to both. This sickens. To sickens and disturbs me.

    • Gaylene Barton /

Do rite Joel. Myb if our judicial system and Washington wasn't such a joke and had less sympathy for criminals amd held ppl accountable this kinda stuff wouldnt happen so oftn

    • Joel Rivera /

I heard this guy shot a 3month old in the head while in its mothers arms at close range so Im assuming that baby has no head now. I think they ought to spare the tax payers money and waste him on the spot. No trial, the bastard doesnt need it.

    • Howard Aubrey /

Joke Rivers just called every US veteran a "cold hearted monster devoid of humanity"……

No wonder you can't keep a wife or a job, you're a complete stain on civilization….

    • Joel Rivera /

      Coward Crybaby
Show some respect for the victims damn you. Your insensitivity and immaturity knows no bounds.

    • Howard Aubrey /

Plenty of respect for them, I was just pointing out how you called every US soldier and veteran a "cold hearted monster devoid of humanity"……

      Classy…. you useless douchebag….

    • Joel Rivera /

      Coward Crybaby
I didnt, you did. So much for your credibility, so just go on ahead and play your games. Dont lie about respect, your lacking it completely right now with your immature and irresponsible comments. Damn son of a bitch.

    • Howard Aubrey /

      Yes, actually you did….and I quote…

"Only a cold hearted monster devoid of humanity could have notone iota of an issue pulling the trigger and taking a life"

      You American hating POS…..

    • Joel Rivera /

      Coward Crybaby
Nice try Mr Red Commie son of a bitch. Nice try and your lack of respect for what transpired is highly evidenced by your ignorant b!tchfest. You seriously need to get with the program and get a life. You are not who you portray yourself to be on here so give it a break and go see where you left your heart at, if you can even find it.

    • Quit molesting that tree fagboy.

    • Kelly Calder /

Howard Aubrey – Where did he call every US veteran 'a cold hearted monster devoid of humanity?" Of the people I've served with who did have to take a life, they did not do it "devoid of humanity" and they regret that they had to take a life, even if it was someone trying to kill them. I luckily have never had to shoot someone while deployed and I hope I never do. But if I HAVE to – I'll do it because it's my job. My job is to protect my fellow soldiers and myself. So yes if someone is shooting at me, I'll shoot them back. But I will probably not be happy about it later on. Neither are the people I know who have had to take another life because they realize most of those that they shot were fighting for something they believed was right. There are soldiers who have unfortunately had to shoot children. They didn't want to but when a kid has a suicide bomb strapped to his chest, there isn't a lot of choices.

Also just as Joel had no right to wish you dead, you should not insinuate things about his personal life and if they're true you shouldn't post them. Be an adult at least.

    • Kelly Calder /

Howard Aubrey Sounds like you're trolling…

    • Kelly Calder /

Kelly Henderson You sound like a troll too….

    • Howard Aubrey /

      Kelly,

Congratulations! You wrote 5 posts in 2 hours with 11 homophobic comments!

I do believe everyone knows exactly what that means…..

      http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=single-angry-straight-male

You run out of little boys in Ohio?

    • Howard Aubrey /

      Kelly Calder ,

He said "Only a cold hearted monster devoid of humanity could have notone iota of an issue pulling the trigger and taking a life"….

I do believe that would apply to any well trained soldier….

    • Joel Rivera /

      Coward Crybaby
You're generalizing on purpose as usual. What I said can apply to anyone, and for you to put words in my mouth and denigrate the troops like that is the usual low for you.

  5. CJ King /

No politics, please. The victims were all innocent Americans watching a movie. They were gunned down by a madman. It's time to mourn the dead and wounded. It's not time to discuss gun laws.

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

Yes it goddamn well IS "time to discuss gun laws"!!! If not NOW, then WHEN?!? When this incident is swept away under the rug of the next "24 hour news cycle"?! Seriously?!?
How about we wait for the NEXT mass killing using high-capacity clips? Oh, wait–it'll be time for "prayer and reflection" THEN too, huh?
      BULLSHIT!
I'm SICK to death of this senseless tragedy WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN MITIGATED IF NOT PREVENTED! Those clips were ILLEGAL under the Brady Bill!
NOW IS THE TIME TO TALK ABOUT THIS BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN!

  6. If more people had a gun to defend themselves, it would have been less tragic. My heart bleeds so much for those lost and injured, true. But for those of you who believe disarming and religuishing the U.S.'s 2nd Amendment, you are wrong. The right to bare arms does keep Government tryannny in check. Read history my friends. If we give into this UN treaty or even if we give into our own U.S. Government, we forfeit all that our ancesters forught and died for over the last 240 years. I can't imagine giving up on our predecessors and ancestors dreams for the few years of a fundemental change. My God, this fundenmental chage is nothing but the dissolvency of the great republic in history. GOD Bless America! Let's keep the republic alive!

    • Kelly Calder /

Don Dreyer – No more people should not have guns because most people don't take the time to properly learn how to use them. Even if you had the best sniper in the world in that theater, it wouldn't have mattered. Do people forget he threw gas bombs to cause confusion and chaos before he opened fire? What would have happened if someone would have had a gun? I guarantee you more people would've been killed and injured.

Now this case should not cause more gun restrictions either. That's just stupid. But I don't think everyone and their mom should own a gun to feel safe – especially if they don't know how to use it.

    • Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz /

What a bunch of spoonfed, NRA-inspired BULLSHIT, Don. We saw in the Gaby Giffords shooting how a man in the crowd had a gun and didn't draw for fear of being mistaken as a second shooter. Then when he DID draw his gun, he almost shot the WRONG man! The society YOU would engineer would have people going to the movies and–I could hear it now—"Honey, do you have our tickets? Great! How about the bag of candy? Cool! Oh, and honey, do yuo have your gun?" SERIOUSLY?! Give me a BREAK!

This ain't about "disarming" or even relinquishing the 2nd Amendment. It's about getting high capacity clips and assault rifles out of the hands of PSYCHOPATHS! It's too goddamned LATE to "enforce the laws on the books" when dozens of people are dead or injured!!

  7. Where was God when this happened?

  8. Howard Aubrey /

Colorado shooter Holmes is "heavily involved in his local presbyterian church".

    Say no more…….

    • Joel Rivera /

      Coward Aubrey
You deserve to be laying on that cold table in the morgue, not these victims and I mean that literally.

    • Kelly Calder /

Joel Rivera – Really? That's a bit harsh to say to someone you don't even know who really did nothing but post an opinion.

    • Joel Rivera /

      Kelly Calder
Everything this guy says on a dailey basis is harsh. I dont know him, dont care to know him but he gets beyond stupid with his comments all the time with everyone. Its a time for mourning the victims and this avowed athiest wants to attack the church as the cause for this Holmes guy act of cowardice when it does not factor into the mind of someone who snapped for some unknown reason.

    • Kelly Calder /

Joel – I have seen some of his comments. If you really want to have time for mourning those victims, wishing for more or telling someone they deserve to die because of some Internet comments seems a bit rash. It's the Internet – the guy is trolling. If you don't care what he says, just ignore him.

    • Howard Aubrey /

      Joke Rivers,

Actually, I'm a Buddhist.. In any event, it has been reported that the kid was HEAVILY involved in his christian church. If this guy had been a muslim, you'd be shrieking about it like the pathetic, inbred little freak that you are….

You represent everything that is wrong with society……
