Rep. Michael Grimm to OWS Protesters:
Pack Up, Buy a Bar of Soap, and Get Out of NYC

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Michael G. Grimm (R,C-NY) issued the following statement on the two-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street:

“These people have overstayed their welcome and it’s time they get the heck out of New York City. Between the filth, the smell, the incessant noise, and threat to public safety, they have done nothing but cause a nuisance to the people who work and live in Lower Manhattan. They’ve cost the city and surrounding businesses millions of dollars, and it’s time these people find a more productive use of their time. New Yorkers have had ENOUGH!

“The people I represent are the hard-working ‘99%’ who simply want to go to work, do their jobs, and get home to their families without being hassled along the way.  They already face one of the longest commutes in the nation without having to deal with this mob.  It is reprehensible for these lowlifes to overrun the Staten Island Ferry or the subways to Brooklyn and add further hours to the trip home.

“I applaud the efforts of Mayor Bloomberg, and the NYPD under Commissioner Kelly’s leadership, in cleaning up Zuccotti Park and managing a potentially violent and destructive situation. They have done a tremendous job! However, it has been two months and now it’s time for the OWS protesters to pack up their tents, buy a bar of soap, and head home.”

I was just wondering if there was something productive for them to do. Maybe they could ride stationary bikes to generate electricity.

Occupiers do not PRODUCE anything but hot air.

  4. I vote a one-way ticket to the people's paradise of North Korea where they will be welcomed and immediately sent to the nearest gulag.

I couldn't have said it better myself. My question is why did it take so long? Why were protesters allowed to take over public land in the first place? The OWS protesters have banked over $500,000 and I think it's time they hand it over to the business owners who have lost business because of obummer's lap dogs. I'm looking forward to the civil suits that strip them of their funds.

    • and pay for the damages from vandals.. The so called 99% need to PAY their fair share for the resources wasted by the city on these vagabond flea bags..

  7. The Obama Zombies took over Z Park… Bloomberg had to give in to the Commish & the Health Dept probably.. I applaud the NY PD for their patience in this whole ordeal.. Twenty years ago this would have gotten bloody.. But with 24 hr news, smart phones & trial lawyers they showed great restraint.

They whine about capitalism but have smart phones, laptops & tablet computers, use the internet and social media/networking sites… They should be the millstone around the neck of the Dems and the left.

If these people hate freedom, free markets/capitalism & free religion so much, they should leave the USA and move to Iran. They can enjoy life without the hindrance of technology, democracy and religious freedoms.

  8. Freeze OWC bank account and pay back business that lost money.

  9. awesome article…keep up the good work.

I'm not sure which percentage I belong to, probably the 99, but I'd be more than happy to contribute for soap, then we can call the fire department to come out and hose 'em down.

Does Cuba need to be occupied? It's not too far.

    I agree.
