The following is a transcript of Todd’s morning commentary – heard daily on hundreds of radio stations.
From New York, I’m Todd Starnes with this Fox News & Commentary next.
It was President Lincoln who set aside the last Thursday of November as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise.
Beyond the turkey and cornbread dressing and sweet potato pie
Today is a moment for us to be thankful.
I’m thankful for my Southern-fried family and for good health.
I’m thankful the Mayflower was a sturdy ship.
I’m thankful the Pilgrims shared a meal with the Indians.
I’m thankful Benjamin Franklin flew a kite.
I’m thankful for the star-spangled banner and the brave troops who defend this land of the free, this home of the brave.
I’m thankful for country music and Nascar and Southeastern Conference football.
I’m thankful for you – my fellow countrymen – patriots all — listening to my daily musings.
But most of all I’m thankful to God – our beneficent Father – who continues to bless our nation and fill our tables with His bounty.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends. I’m Todd Starnes
