The first rays of morning light are just beginning to wash over the eastern seaboard — and already kitchens from Kennebunkport to Key West are bee-hives of activity.

There’s pecan pies to bake and turkeys to roast.
Crackling fires and football games — on this day of Thanksgiving.
And I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a lot to be thankful for.
Barbecue and Nutter Butters, Abita Springs Root Beer and the Tennessee Volunteers,
My sweet, wonderful, Southern-fried family and my Cracker Barrel rocking chair.
I’m thankful for you good folks — who take a moment – sixty seconds t0 pause and listen to my daily commentaries.
Most of all I am thankful to God — and His almighty hand — for guiding our path — for seeing fit that we were born in a free nation — where all men are created equal.
But even so – that still doesn’t guarantee you a turkey leg!
