Atheists are using a music video that celebrates the burning of churches and synagogues to promote an upcoming atheist-themed festival at Fort Bragg.
“Rock Beyond Belief” is scheduled to be held on the parade field at Fort Bragg in March. The event was created in part as a response to a Billy Graham Evangelistic Association event that was held last year.
Justin Griffith, who organized “Rock Beyond Belief,” said he was personally offended that a Christian evangelical event like “Rock the Fort” was held on the base.
“We felt it was entirely inappropriate for anyone to say your current religion is wrong,” Griffith told Fox News& Commentary. “We view all soldiers as already spiritually complete. Whatever their current religious preference is has no bearing on how fit they are as a soldier or anything related to military business.”
Griffith confirmed the lineup includes atheist speakers, a rapper who raps about evolution and a “kiddy pool” where boys and girls will be able to scientifically walk on water.
There will also be a number of bands performing – the most famous of which is Aiden. They are featured in a video on the “Rocky Beyond Belief” website that includes images of burning churches and bloody crosses.
The website Christianfighterpilot.com was the first to raise questions about the music.
The website labels the song as the “atheist anthem.”
Among the lyrics: “Love how the burn your synagogues, love how they torch your holy books.”
The group is no stranger to strong lyrics. Another of their songs says, “F*** your God, F*** your faith in the end. There’s no religion.”
Griffith said that particular song would not be performed at the festival, but defended the video of burning churches.
“You can buy their albums in Wal-Mart, a Christian-friendly store,” Griffith said. “If you have issues with bands that sometimes have swear words, or naughty words, or shocking imagery, that’s a part of the First Amendment.”
Benjamin Abel, a spokesman for Fort Bragg told Fox News & Commentary that they were launching a review of the bands scheduled to perform along with their content.
“This is a family-friendly event and we expect the entertainment will meet the standards of decency that would be typical on a top-40 music station,” Abel said. “We owe it to our soldiers and families on post to make sure it is.”
As for the graphic, anti-Christian lyrics – Abel said “I would have to think we would have to take a very close look at that kind of lyric.”
“I don’t know how family-friendly that is,” he said.
Griffith said there is absolutely no controversy about Aiden’s upcoming performance.
“It’s a little shocking to hear some of this stuff,” he said. “I’m sure you understand that these types of shocking things are not going to be front and center for a rock concert that is on a military base. This is not controversy. This is not a real story.”
But if that’s the case, why is there a video of the band performing in front of burning churches on the “Rock Beyond Belief” website?
The military could not answer that question.
“I can’t speak to somebody’s website,” Abel said. “We are reviewing the material and will ensure that event organizers understand that we will have to hold them to a certain level of decency.”

I haven't commented on here in a while because the death threats were becoming a little too aggressive from the 'Peaceful' Atheists/Muslim/Pagan Worshippers' on here. The Violent outbursts convince me that while Christianity is imperfect, living without would lead us into a world where anything would be excusable such as genocide, euthenasia, murder of infants, pedophilia. Oh, wait a minute I forgot those inhumane things do exist in our world today and fully endorsed by those non-Christians!
Burning any sort of religious temple is like burning a book: the highest expression of ignorance and intolerance.
yes and since the churches in the video were burned by other religious people and not Atheists, it's a great example of how religions are ignorant and intolerant toward each other… and Atheists too, pretty much anyone who isn't the same religion as them.
Religion is an expression of belief that is not necessarily dependent upon concepts of the divine. Science, and even Atheism are in their own right quasi-religions. I do tend to agree with you that monotheistic religions tend to be rather monolithic in their thought processes and are frankly intolerant. Destroying temples, or celebrating the destruction of same, is in my mind a dangerous path that doesn't stray far from celebrating the extermination of a population. I am certainly not acquiting Christianity, Judaism or Islam. I am merely trying to illustrate that these actions or the celebration of these actions, are the zenith of bad taste, and smack of a hidden desire to pursue more violent options given the opportunity. Much like serial or multiple killers in their youth starting with the abuse, torture, and killing of small animals, this sort of behavior at least indicates a subconscious desire to escalate given the opportunity. Let us not forget that the far left is very guilty of mass execution and extermination in the process of suppressing religion. A trip to any Holocuast museum or better yet to one of the camps serves as an excellent reminder.
Jamie Slaughter You can't just call stuff religion and make it so. If atheism is a religion then off is a television channel. Science can be elevated to the level of religion but anyone who does that is being wildly unscientific. Science is the best tool we have to learn about the universe and it breaks down if you start taking it on faith… you have to approach science with a critical mind or it won't give you the right answers.
I've studied the Holocaust and Nazi Germany rather closely, written original research, etc. The Holocaust had nothing at all to do with suppressing religion. Catholics and Protestants went about their business in Germany as long as they didn't cross the state. You could say the Germans were suppressing the Jewish faith specifically, but you'd be wrong as hell because every piece of evidence says they were suppressing the Jewish bloodline.
More importantly, there is absolutely NO way that the NSDAP (Nazi party) was left-wing. The Sturmabteilung had leftist tendencies, but Hitler made it pretty clear how he felt about them on the Night of Long Knives. The Nazis also went after homosexuals and communists when they were rounding people up for mass murder, so how do you square that with your idea that they were "the far left?"
I'll agree with you that leftist governments have committed mass extermination because of the USSR, but the Nazis were not a leftist group. At the same time, though, you need to recognize that men with dictatorial power ALWAYS commit atrocities, regardless of their ideology. If they weren't bad people they wouldn't be dictators. Religion has its dictators just as atheism does, the right has its dictators just as the left does. So I see you making an argument against overreaching governmental authority, not any particular belief system.
Nobody is celebrating the burning of churches. You really need to learn to interpret art before you start flying off the handle. As I've tried to explain to people multiple times here… the lyrics and the cinematography make it QUITE clear that the burning of churches and the crosses in the grave yard are supposed to be tragic. They are illustrations of the tragic results of dogmatic faith–the faithful kill each other over their differences.
"First brown then red." Spend a little more time with political theory, then retrun to the argument. Also, re-read, slowly. Pay particular attention to verbiage, e.g. "quasi". You're being disturbingly dogmatic. That can be destructive : )
Jamie Slaughter you're a quasi-dick
As for "first brown then red," please re-read, slowly. Look up the parts you don't understand on Google. Pay particular attention to the fact that the Sturmabteilung (SA) were the leftist wing of the Nazi party, and the Night of Long Knives was the night Hitler and his inner circle put a permanent stop to any thoughts of a Marxist Nazi party. This was in 1934, significantly before the construction of the death camps and gas chambers. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Atheism, Islam, and the LGBT crowd would have you believe that they only want what is good and peaceful for humankind, like ethunasia of the old, infirm and unwanted children, pedophilia, Man-boy love, genocide, sterilization of all who are of low IQ, rape incest, etc.. basically if it feels good do it! Hmm sounds like something that Satan and his minions love doing. Convincing the world that there is no tomorrow , so do what you will with no regard to any MORAL law because it really doesn't matter!
Nobody of whom I am aware endorses pedophilia, rape or incest in the name of atheism or LGBT rights. I'm not sure of an American organization of Atheists or LGBT individuals which endorses involuntary sterilization or euthanasia (learn how to spell that) for anybody.
Jay Jackson Become a student of history!
Lee Stern I am a student of history, interestingly enough. It often backfires when you say something snarky like that and don't actually make a point. If you knew the first thing about history you'd have taken a few minutes to explain what it is you think I'm missing.
I'm aware that when you say "genocide" you are probably referring to the USSR. However, to say that Stalin committed genocide because of atheism shows an absurdly simplistic understanding of history. The evils of the USSR had a lot more to do with the trajectory and momentum of Russian history than anything else. For a number of reasons, Russia is a place where heads of state become brutal dictators. Brutal dictators tend to commit genocide no matter what their religious affiliation.
If you are referring to Nazi Germany, either with "genocide," or with "sterlization of all who are of low IQ," or with "euthanasia (learn to spell it) of the old, infirm, and unwanted children," then you are incredibly mistaken. Nazi Germany is not a valid example of atheism, in fact atheism is a label which the religious have attached after the fact. I have to assume you are mistakenly referring to Nazi Germany with these references because at least one person has already done so in the comments on this story and because I am not aware of other cases you might be referring to in which involuntary sterilization and euthanasia were practiced. I mean unless you're referring to involuntary sterilization in the American south, which had nothing to do with religious affiliation.
More importantly, I am unclear as to how you associate either of these entities has anything to do with LGBT. Don't even go for the "there were gay Nazis" because the Sturmabteilung had a few–the Nazis killed their leader and marginalized the lot of them, and there was a numerical code in the concentration camp tattoos that identified people imprisoned for being homosexuals.
Finally, what to Muslims have to do with Atheists at all? Muslims certainly don't think "if it feels good, do it" the way you have suggested. Islam is an extremely restrictive faith with all kinds of arbitrary rules and commands. Basically it's the same thing as Christianity except it's popular in less modernized parts of the world where violence is more of a way of life. The Bible commands the stoning of rebellious children, look it up.
I'm still at a loss as to where you're getting pedophilia from LGBT and Atheism–I thought that was a Catholic thing? Also incest, I'm not aware of which Atheist organization promotes or condones incest. Perhaps, as a professor of history yourself, you could enlighten me?
Jay Jackson You really are an idiot, you must be one of those Liberal Democrats that believes their own propaganda. Without knowing your background I can forgive that. At least you haven't made any death threats.
Great job with your counter argument. I see you've got a lot of historical facts in there. Wait did I say historical facts, I meant personal attacks and groundless condescension. It takes a special kind of intellectual to use "you are an idiot" as a counter argument. That kind of intellectual is known as "pseudo."
Jay Jackson As far as historical facts go you haven't used any except the same party line propaganda of the Liberal Democrats, or are you so much of an idiot to not recognize sarcasm?! I have Atheist friends that I debate with all the time and even they have recognized a certain amount of propaganda being spun by a conglomeration of Atheist/LGBT/Muslim organizations making them guilty of some of the same things they claim of organized religion. Come back with some real defenitive facts!
Lee Stern Which of the things that I have said is "party line propaganda of the Liberal Democrats?" Just copy-paste the lines from my previous post and explain in a sentence or two what is wrong or false about each thing I have said with which you disagree.
I have made several claims of fact, that is, statements which you can look up in legitimate historical sources and try to verify or falsify: Russia has a trend, historically, toward brutal autocratic governments; Nazi Germany is not historically linked with Atheism; The Nazi government persecuted homosexuals and had a numerical tattoo code denoting that a prisoner was guilty of homosexuality.
You, on the other hand, have made no specific claims. You have asked me for definitive facts, although you misspelled "definitive." I sincerely doubt that you have "Atheist friends [who agree that] Atheist/LGBT/Muslim organizations [anything]." Any Atheist who agrees to be lumped together with Muslims is FICTIONAL. You lump Muslims together with Jews and Christians, because they all believe in a God and prophets etc. What would Atheists have to do with people of any faith? Not to mention, Atheist and Muslim are both answers to the same blank on a survey. LGBT is the answer to a completely different blank. It's like saying "fry cooks, cashiers, and astronauts." One of these things doesn't belong with the other two.
Actually, "fry cooks, cashiers, and astronauts" are all still occupations, even if they are wildly different. It's more like "fry cooks, cashiers, and keychains."
Lorem Ip Sum So you are not aware of the August Conference of of psycologist planning a drive to 'Normalize' Pedophilia almost the same day as President Obama coming out in support of gay marriage?! Hmmm, better check those facts.
Nice apologetic spin! Too bad it all BS smoke and mirrors!
"Thou shalt NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS"….remember that little rule o holy joes?
Liars! J'ACCUSE!
This reminds me of a story. I once had a girlfriend who told me she talks to god on a regular basis. I asked if I could join in and she said I could. She puts her hands in the air and shakes them and closes her eyes. She starts waggling her tongue and arms, and body and making grunting noises for a minute. Then, like an exhausted runner she collapses and said "OK, I talked to god." I tell her I didn't hear him reply and do you know what she said to me? She asked if I can hear the birds in the trees? Yes I said. She said, well, that's his voice. I really expected something more. She couldn't understand why I was not convinced. Do you?
Morons, Go read the lyrics.
Morons, Go read the lyrics.
The lyrics switch to and fro from "they" as in the religious, to "we" as in secular. Your left a typo,(on purpose?) a removal of a "y" in the quoted lyric "Love how the[y] burn your synagogues" This changes the meaning, the message, from your portrayal of the act being done by a secular group/person (such as the group itself) to the act being done by someone of religion. To one of faith, this misquote would be the first jarring bit. For Americans, who often think that intake of information equates to ownership of thought, the viewing of the video may be off limits. In that case, your quotes will be all the information they get on the title (subject?) of this article. In my book, that's irresponsible journalism, and you should be ashamed of pushing your bias by twisting information, purposefully or via ineptitude.
This Federal judge should be taken out of office.
Which federal judge? What did he do?
I grew up in Fayetteville and my dad was Special Forces at Ft. Bragg. I believe everyone is entitled to their own beliefs but don't throw it in peoples faces. The video was very offensive and kids will be their to hear that. Hoepefully the parents that take their kids to this haven't let the kids also watch the video. I work at a treatment facility for kids that have problems. Exposure to hate and other things damages children. Glad don't live there anymore.
Atheist soldiers routinely fail "spiritual fitness" tests given to members of the armed forces, and are then compelled to take "remedial" classes which are meant to improve their "spiritual fitness." And on top of all that, the practicing Christians get to have a rock concert, but when the Atheists want to have one they get slandered in the media. Talk about throwing your beliefs in peoples' faces, right?
As far as the video being offensive… how come Christians get to say that non-believers are "lost" and "going to hell" after they die, but Atheists don't get to say that Christians, Muslims and Jews have been killing each other for centuries over pointless superstitions? You believe we're wrong, we believe you're wrong, I get that. How come only you get to talk about it?
Please check your facts, Christians, because you've lived up to the song's title.
Quote from the author of the song "Hysteria" regarding the lies about atheists and the song itself: "The video in question (Hysteria) features stock footage of, yes, churches burning, among other shattering events of chaos. This is not in promotion of that sort of destruction. We used it to highlight the Hysteria I've witnessed from religious fundamentalists and political extremists around the globe. These people are completely missing the point of the song. If they took the time to actually listen to the words and the inflection in which they are sung, they would notice the sneering sarcasm I am using."

Persecution is coming to America. There is nothing to stop it. Get used to it.
Oh, you're SOOO persecuted. An Atheist organization is barely able to get equal time compared to a Christian event because an entire infrastructure of Christianity which is built into our society has lashed out vehemently against it, and you're the one who is persecuted.
Every president has to pay lip service to your faith in order to be electable, and YOU'RE the one who is persecuted. When people say "happy holidays," Fox calls it a "War on Christmas" and YOU'RE the one who is persecuted. You live in some kind of bubble.
The liberal infestation-
These aholes are trampling on my rights to freedom of religion that this country is founded on! Sometimes a large group of people and lousville slugger bats and I bet you the athiest would pray to someone. It just seems that the only solution left in some cases is a good old fashion spanking…Most of these people were probably never disciplined as a child! I know my kid would not join in on that! So now lets teach the future generation that it is all right to burn down churches and make a music video and hold celebration! Does anyone else see what is wrong with this picture>?
Yes, you seem be using sarcasm to turn the story upside down. It sounds like you are saying that the atheists are "teach the future generation that it is all right to burn down churches" when they are actually teaching the exact opposite.
All I ask you to remember is that atheists are people just as religious people are. We just choose not to believe superstition and magic are more real than is science and logic. Other than that, atheists are the same as Christians.
why is something non-believers don't believe in offensive? if you don't believe in God, why is it necessay to have your own event unless you believe there is a God? if you have no belief in religion, why care about what believers do? it is a free country.
If you are not homosexual, why care about what homosexuals do?
Reading the quotes and comments below, I think you guys may be forgetting that it was soldiers who organized this event. If you really think that every person in the United States military is of high religious thoughts while they are off killing other humans, you are sadly mistaken. I find it oddly funny that the same people who believe our troops are of the utmost religious conviction also support those who wizzed on dead bodies and defended the soldier that went on a midnight rage-raid to kill 18 innocent Afghans including children. You really need to wake up and realize the military is not a church, it is a killing machine. It is design for one purpose – defend the United States. The only thing we expect of our soldiers is to follow the uniform code of conduct, break shit and kill people.
The only religion to be persecuted by all others, but all cultures, by all races of people, is Christianity. The Bible speaks of the persecution, and speaks of how it increases and gets worse. Atheists have shown in this event the ability to be violent or to promote violent tendencies.. The rock group they promote, just verifies that, at least in my opinion…
scumbag atheists are ruining this great country we love and hold so dear. to hell with them and cnn(communist news network)!
where's anderson cooper, wolf blitzer, nancy grace on this one? oh yeah, their communist news network support atheists!
awww, little pagan folks going up against The Truth… good luck with that.
As I read these posts I am astounded at the lack of intelligent discourse.
Item: The "Hitler Diaries?" They were shown to be fakes about a week after they were published. Drivil.
Item: We are only using our "First amendment rights." Okay, brave soul. Build a paper mosque and burn it down, along with trashing a couple of Korans, and express your first amendment rights to "stand up" for your atheism. Do you have the nerve?
Item: Gee, Chistians are upset about being discriminated against (a bad thing). Tell it to the Jews who suffered this and worse for 1600 years now at the hands of just about everybody. Don't like happening to you? Then don't do it to others. (Catchy thought, eh?)
Item: "Separation of Church and State." What a good idea. But the Warren Court's fantasizing that this is in the Constitution? Go back and read what it says. Study what the writers and ratifiers were trying to guarantee to free citizens. Then show me a law (or proposed law) that is written to establish a given religion as the state religion. (I'll wait… bet you can't do it.) Congress, indeed, shall pass no such law. How does that apply to my wishing you a happy Easter, a joyful Quanza (which I don't think is a real religion holiday), or a merry Christman? No law, no state religion, just a friendly recognition of your right to practice your religion (which, of course, IS in the Constitution).
Item: When are atheists going to grow up and just go about their business? It offends you to see a cross? It offends me to see an atheist. So? You are angry with me? I feel sorry for you. So? Just keep it to speech and leave my actions unencumbered. Unless I actually harm you in some way.

It's kind of off-kilter if you ask me – shouldn't an Atheist display / video / etc. just be a depiction of nothing?
what are they doing on an army base to start with don't they know atheist are all cowards and off in the head. The base commander division commander should be put on report demoted in rank and made to pay fines to cover cost of this event and sent to alaska to serve the rest of there service.Only a God fearing man will do the things our service men do in afggan. or pakstan.. Even a gay man would be better than a atheist at your side going into battle and watch your back.
when does it stop? taking away one's first amendment right to uphold or boister your own first amendment right is wrong. how come it's okay to blast christianity but if a christian says anything against another religion it's wrong? get your thumbs out your a**es and wake up raise your voices for your rights before they are all taken away….50 years from now it'll be muslim, hindu, buddhism or whatever other freedom "they" want to tell you is wrong….I see so many afraid to really stand up for what they truly believe because they are afraid of not fitting in….I am proud to be a white christian.. do not try to take away from me my pride or beliefs…I admire any one of any race who is proud of their heritage but who also allow me to be proud of mine not very many.

Really people I see comments were some people are talking about atrocities Christians did over 100 years ago. You sound as bad as someone pissing and moaning about slavery. I've never owned a slave and my great grandparents have never owned a slave. My grand dad on my dads side was a nazi. So should I apologize for what he did to Jews. No because that is not how I am. I've never placed Jews in camps. So get over crap that happened so long ago.
I also find it interesting that the leadership at Ft. Bragg would allow the depiction and celebration of violence against churches to go without punishment or comment. I find it interesting that at the very least, the promotion of arson would be tolerated! Were I an Army member at Ft. Bragg, I think I would lodge a complaint with the Inspector General. The blatant encouragement of violence against Christians and their churches is, at the very least, a backhanded attack on the 1st Amendment.
Jeff, it just shows how our Fricking Govt has and is going to shit in a hand basket and the bastards, SORRY, we have in office don't give a shit and most are in back of it. Get them the hell out. Seems like some other countries are not having a problem of getting the ones in hig places the hell out.
These "Atheists" are mostly Leftists, homosexuals, and people whose souls burn when they hear the words "Thy will be done". They offer nothing positive. "We hate religion, we hate you, and you're stupid.". As has been pointed out they direct their fire primarily at Christians. They lack both the nerve and integrity to take on Muslims and Jews with the same ferocity.
Again hate is taught,
not inherited.
As soon as we can get a decent true conservative President in the white house maybe we can get these mon kees fired.
OK, once again: Christianity is by no means the only religion atheists think is ridiculous, and Christians are not the only delusional, juvenile, ignorant group in this country. The reason we choose to concentrate on Christianity is that the other religions are not attempting to force this country into theocracy. Christ, you people are thick.

Yes show a mosque burning and show San Francisco's homosexual community burning and watch the international outrage….. Joe Schmidt when you see God at the white throne of judgment tell him that he doesn't exist…lol!
I'm sure in the state your in it is not legal to burn churches or anything down. goes under arsinist and vandilsm. the act of promoting this shows your telling the world that the laws of the united states doesn't apply to you talk about a slap in the face of police officers everywhere and the court house and whom ever else it may concern.
Christans don't demand you believe as them. How about offering the same courtesy. That's what is great about America. I am free to worship my God and you are free not to.
So, would they allow a Christian festival?
did anyone actually attend? this band sucks for starters.
did anyone actually attend? this band sucks for starters.
Keep those likes coming people. You would not believe the number of so called Atheists who turn out to be just plain Christian Haters. They are just as cruel and vicious as the KKK ever was, might be due to support from those same sources of Hatred that have exchanged their clothing. The propaganda being spewed is a mix of Nazi and Communist dogma with some Anti-Catholic Hatred thrown in for bad measure. Most of the rehtoric sounds like it came from some leftist professors who are now coming out from under those rocks they hid under during the fall of the Soviet Union. Those same Hate-Mongers now use what their Soviet KGB Master's taught them to drive wedges into our society just as they did in the 60's and 70's, compare those times to what is happening now. The likes stopped counting at 189 but the true number is far over 400.
Whoa. Just for those who stated (those posts are in January) NO Christian Churches approve bullying, bigotry, etc. This just came up in May 2012… Sad.

What happened to all theose Anti-Christian Trolls on here? Apparently only 200 of them showed up at what becam a blatant AntiChristian Concert!
Dislike, Unfortuneately there is way to much of this mess in the world these days!
I love the facile platitude about how "this is all part of the First Amendment," when, of course, no one is questioning the First Amendment: they're simply forcing pathological atheists to confront the true nature of what they're doing. Which they predictably fend off with the aforementioned platitude. This is the hypocrisy of America, a country in which the most gingerly criticism of a protected group is attacked as "hate speech," but celebrations of church burnings are defended (legitimately, but evasively) as "free speech."
Oh Christians, SUCK IT UP. If you insist on sponsoring proselytization on our SECULAR military bases, you're going to have to give equal time to us nonbelievers.
And we WILL tweak your pissers as much as we can get away with!
The difference between 'could' do something and 'should" do something seems to pose a lot of issues with people about the first amendment. I can see a logical argument for against a belief in God, but this concert is just on the level of a hate group. If radical Christians are really as bad as Atheists say, then why be bad back. Be better people and the truth, if there, will come out.
