The Florida State  Attorney’s Office told The Gainesville Sun that it is unlikely Samuel Williams will be charged.

“Based on what I have seen and what I know at this time, I don’t anticipate filing any charges,” said Bill Gladson of the State Attorney’s Office for 5th Judicial Circuit.

Gladson told the newspaper that it appears the shooting was justified and the senior adult had a concealed weaposn permit.

Mary Beach was one of several dozen people inside the cafe when the attempted robbery happened.

“I think he is wonderful,” she told the newspaper. “If  he wouldn’t have been there, there could have been some innocent people shot.”

The surveillance video shows two masked men entering the Palms Internet Cafe. One of the suspects had a gun — the other had a baseball bat.

To bad he didn't have a bigger gun.

  2. Just wish he had a bigger gun is all I say…

  3. Yeah, Look at the scared rabbit, s run. Slipping and crapping all over themselves.

  4. This is what happens when the caliber of the gun is to small, looks like a 380 or 9 millimeter.
Now the good old 45 Cal in a 1911 A1 and none of those rat bastards would have gotten up.
I say give the man a medal and a new Kimber.

    • True but he probably chose a .22, .38 or 9mm because its compact size is easier to conceal and carry than a larger calibur gun. No harm there, it's fairly common.

I say this guy deserves an award. Punk asses like that might think twice about jacking people up if more grandpa's packed heat.

  6. Perfect!!!! Nice to finally see someone take the bull by the horns and refuse to be victimized by these bottom feeders!!!!! He truly saved the day for many!!!! Proud of Mr. Williams!! If thugs were always met with this type of resistance, there would be a huge reduction in crime!!!!!! :)

  7. That was definitely someone from Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation." need more MEN like that today…because those 2 punks sure do not fit that definition. Thank you sir :)

  8. This needs to happen all over our nation.Legal citizens, after adequate background check including mental history(the libs scoff at that!), arming themselves against being sitting ducks for this trash that is permeating our country today. This crap would stop, I guarantee you it would! Switzerland or Seden(one of them)issues a firearm to EVERY citizen and they have to go through a class on how to use it! Now that`s what I call PUBLIC SAFETY!

  9. Someone give this guy a medal. Hope they bleed out somewhere.

  10. I'm all for concealed carry provided your not an idiot. Unfortunately, I live in Chicago where our scum sucking, bottom feeding, arrogant sellout politicians believe that they are above the 2nd amendment of the United States constitution.

  11. Great job Mr. Williams! It's nice to see someone with enough courage to intervene and risk his own life for the greater good. Especially a 71 year man who aches and pain didn't preventing from standing up. You are a hero!

  12. Wow that guy is my hero. If in the wake of the Colorado theater shooting you're now thinking we should take guns out of Americans' hands, look at this story to see the other side of that coin.

  13. Now a lifetime member of the NRA.

  14. this is exactly why We Do Need to keep our guns with us – - if the citizens stand up maybe the thugs won't see is as easy pickins – - you will always have some S.O.B. go crazy – and if this guy was in the theater maybe so many people would not have died in C.O……..
