I have some of the coolest friends on the planet and from time to time I want to introduce you to some of them and share their recipes with you. Lynette Eason is a dear friend and one of my favorite suspense authors. I buy all her books as soon as they release. She’s that good! (And in the spirit of full disclosure, she hasn’t given me anything to make me say that!) Check out her books at www.lynetteeason.com.
When we were on faculty at a conference recently (with Todd Starnes!), Lynette told me about her family’s favorite meatballs. I asked her for the recipe and here it is! Meatballs are good any time of the year, but this recipe might come in extra handy since we’re in the big season for weddings and showers. I hope you enjoy them and that you’ll stop by my Facebook page for some encouragement with a Southern drawl, stories, recipes, tips, and inspiration.
Lynette’s Family Favorite Meatballs
1 lb. ground beef
2 cups bread crumbs
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Mix everything together with your hands and make into medium size meatballs. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.
1 package brown gravy mix
1 1/4 cups water
Mix the gravy mix and water together. Put the meatballs into a big pot and pour the gravy over them. Let them simmer for 15-20 minutes.
