The Texas Dept. of Public Safety will not revoke or suspend the license of a handgun instructor who ran a radio ad telling Muslims and non-Christian Arabs that he would not teach them how to handle a firearm.
The DPS statement said Crockett Keller affirmed that he would not refuse handgun instruction “to anyone based on national origin, race or religion.”
The state agency declined to provide any further comment.
Keller gained national attention for the ad that ran on a country music station about 100 miles west of Austin.
“I have no regrets,” he said. “I’m not a mean individual – not to say that occasionally I’ll get a little bit saucy or crude with my language.”
Nevertheless, he said he considers Muslims “our enemy” and he said they aren’t the only ones not welcomed at his handgun class.
“If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner-in-chef, please do not take this class,” he says in the ad that went viral on YouTube. “You’ve already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as required under law.”
Crockett ended his ad with an attack on Muslims.
“Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you this class,” he says. “Once again, with no shame, I am Crockett Keller.”
The Texas Council on American-Islamic Relations said the state’s decision “sounded funny.”
Keller’s ad – calling it ugly rhetoric.
“I thought he meant it,” Texas CAIR executive director Mustafaa Carroll told Fox News. “There’s a lot of hateful rhetoric in the atmosphere in America these days.”
Carroll said American Muslims are good citizens, law abiding and educated.
“Most of the immigrants I know came here to escape oppression in their own lands and many of them have acclimated quite nicely,” he said.
He said many of the Muslims who contacted him just brushed off Keller’s statements.
“We hear so much of it,” he said. “People find it distasteful. When they hear things like that they just write it off to another crack pot.”

I have spent time researching the Islamic faith and my eyes have been opened. First off, this is NOT a faith of peace. It is a political, faith-based social, economic lifestyle. Islam affects all aspects of a Muslim's life. It is based on Sharia Law and governs the day to day of any Muslim. Muslim's themselves are often punished for being too liberal for not abiding by its tenants. It clearly is an oppressive system.
The Sura's state that anyone who does not practice the Islamic faith is an unbeliever and must be "smited" by the sword. Yes, folks, this includes all other faiths, including Christians. They have one goal, to bring Islam to every corner of the globe and then wait for the 12th Inman (Mahdi) to return. They also believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return with the 12th Inman and will smite the necks of those who have not wordhipped Allah and his devine messenger, Muhhamad.
As a nation with a Christian heritage, we must become fully aware of the intect of Islam. They view America as the Great Satan and Israel and Little Satan. They have a goal of destroying who they believe is Satan.
Kudos to this guy for protecting this great Christian nation!

Lisa- Opinions are like assholes – everyone has one. You apparently are some liberal clown who believes that the USA should just be nice to all her enemies. Frankly I think the USA should tell everyone – Don't screw with us or we will kill you! Instead of Obama trying to apologize to Japan for dropping the A-bomb on them He is an embarrassment to the US – we deserve better. And I for one would tell all muslims 'Don't expect us to just roll over and let you conquer us – like Muslims have done for several thousand years.." I have nothing but admiration for Keller. it takes wisdom and strength to refuse to cooperate with the enemy. It would be insanity to teach the enemy to shoot guns. They have far too much ability already to to do us harm, without that. The Muslims hate us and will destroy the country if possible.
Finally, a decision FOR those being attacked daily: Christians, conservatives, regular working Americans who see their country being compromised to the new norms of "political correctness" and "tolerance."
It is interesting that all you supporters of this hate filled nazi-american are leaving out the fact that he had to affirm to the sherrif that he will not do what he says in his ad. He will NOT discriminate against Mulims he affirms to the Sherrif. He has back tracked, he is a COWARD! Yellow Bellied Chicken Hawk pure and simple…lol..what a loser.
I urge all Muslims in the United States to go out and buy as many guns as you can. Afterward, seek your concealed handgun permit. It is unfortunate that you need to do this to protect yourself against nazi-like americans like Keller and his supporters on this blog, but they will, if given the opportunity to get away with it, harm you and your family, up to and including murder. So, protect yourself by following my advice.
