The Girl Scouts have had a change of heart about a transgender boy. They initially rejected a seven-year-old boy who identifies as a girl because he had “boy parts.”

I'm sorry, but that's just sick. I'll be mildly "surprised" if the Boy Scouts start letting in transgender female-to-male leaders or members. Very very sad to see such good-moral established organizations going down the drain.

I see people expressing indignation and outrage that they would allow a boy – a boy, by gender and physiology, into a group of young girls. They are criticizing the decision – not slamming the entire organization for an entirely different matter.
They are called "girl" scouts. Seems to me that they are enough of these politically-motivated uber-liberal and/or activist-gay parents out there they should start a chapter of Gender Doesn't Matter Scouts. If this seven year old child has physiological or psychological issues, having him act them out publicly in this way is not in the child's best interest.
He's a boy. There's no such thing as transgendered and never will be. A boy is ALWAYS a boy and a girl is ALWAYS a girl, no matter how they mutilate their bodies or act. This mother needs to be arrested and all of her children taken away for abuse.

Actually, despite your needlessly emotional reaction and attempt at throwing stones, the chaos being spoken of is taking a boy – who IS a boy both by nature and by physiology, and not only encouraging him to believe he's a girl at 7, (developmentally, emotionally and mentally unable to understand the ramifications of his decision) but putting him into the middle of a bunch of girls who are girls by nature and physiology. It doesn't take a Rhodes scholar to see that that can very easily lead to some awkward and yes, chaotic, responses and situations.
Looking at the situation realistically is hardly "closed minded," no matter how people such as yourself try to color it so.
In this instance, I'm in agreement with Darlene. This isn't just "male and female" children playing together – it has the potential to become a nasty situation very quickly. I wonder how great people would feel this idea was if they happened to find this boy (because he is a boy, genetically/physically) playing doctor with any of these girls his own age?
Would people all still be applauding these brave parents for their decision, or would it suddenly take on a much darker tone?
You know I'm having a problem understanding this news it's a 7year old and it states this person is transgender maybe whom so ever wrote the story made a grammar mistake and didn't search for the appropiate word to describe this persons sexual problem if it's a hemaphrodite them it's a condition that is treable if what I read is rigth then we have a set of parents helping their child to be a homosexual thus psychologically causing harm by allowing a pervert in progress to be raise as such and then I don't see why would the girl scouts allowe" it" to participate please next time make sure the situation is describe properly so the appropiate comment can be made.
I am grateful that the Girl Scouts increased their awareness on transgender youth, reversed their decision and will now help to foster a more open and tolerant climate for all our young people to thrive. Well done!
Rafael: I don't think they are turning him into a homosexual. In any of the interviews, he was never asked if he likes girls, just if he liked dressing like them. So in all probability, he could like girls, and want to become a lesbian in the future, or he could be gay and want to date men when he makes the transition. I hope that makes sense! lol Almost didn't to me! But in either case, I agree that they are causing harm by indulging his whims.
I smell foul! I think the mommy is looking for money and using her child as the bait. How about child neglect charges. If you stand to pee you can't be in girl scouts – simple as that! Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts is the same thing just in your correct gender group. I could understand more if they didn't offer boy scouts and then requesting to be a part of girl scouts…..well, maybe.
And how would a 7 year old boy "know" he was really a girl? I have a friend whose grandson used to dress up in girls clothes, want to buy girls clothes, purses, and shoes. He was like this till he was about 7 or so… he's now about 11 and ALL BOY. Some silly phase he was going through.
Personally I just think we have 4 million gay people going "through a phase" in this country. They will all soon realize they are not really who they are. Uh huh…that's what I really think.

Children that age don't even think one way or another without some outside influence. What they ARE good at is doing whatever they think will please their' parents' and gain them attention.

OMG, they let a t-girl into a girl scout troop. I can see why she wouldn't be accepted into a boy scout troop but what a painful thing to go through.
