Online Campaign Helps 108-Year-Old Stay in Her Assisted Living Home

An online campaign helps change a woman’s life.

    FOX’s Krystin Goodwin reports:

Hundreds of strangers rallying to help a 108-year-old woman stay in her assisted living center. Carrie Rausch has been living at Sunrise on the Scioto, a living facility in Columbus, Ohio, for three years.

But her daughter says she’s broke and without the funds to stay in the place she calls home, Carrie would have to move. Her children set up an online campaign. The goal was to raise $40,000, the yearly cost of room and board.

Thanks to the generosity of strangers the family has raised over $57,000 and Carrie will get to stay.

In a video shared on Facebook, Carrie says thank you:

(Carrie) “I want to say bless you all, and I appreciate it and I really really thank you!”

Her daughter says the remaining donations will go to a local church in her mother’s honor.
