Grant Tinker, TV Pioneer, Dead at 90

A TV pioneer has died.

FOX’s Jacquelyn Karl has more:

Television producer Grant Tinker died peacefully at his home in California Monday.

Tinker was married to Mary Tyler Moore. The two helping produce MTM Enterprises creating shows such as “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, “Rhoda”, “The Bob Newhart Show”, “St. Elsewhere” and “Hill Street Blues.”

The Television Hall of Fame inductee eventually became boss at NBC, turning the network around with shows like “Cheers”, “The Cosby Show”, “Family Ties” and “The Golden Girls.”

While accepting his Peabody Award in 2004, Tinker revealing:

(Tinker) “Getting paid to work in television is like stealing.”

Tinker was 90-years-old.
