South Braces for Tropical Weather

Two tropical weather systems are threatening two different areas of the southeastern United States, prompting some communities in both North Carolina and Florida to prepare for a lot of rain and wind.

FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:

A Tropical Depression is each off the coast of North Carolina and Florida. Both could reach land this week:

(Feltgen) ”The biggest concern with both of these depressions is the rainfall, and you know, it’s just the basic rules. You need to be out of an area which is flooding.”

Dennis Feltgen at the National Hurricane Center. Both should become full-fledged Tropical Storms. Watch zones are posted in Dare County, North Carolina and the outer banks. Spokeswoman Dorothy Hester:

(Hester) “Those red flags are up today. And when those flags are flying it’s important for swimmers of all levels to know the ocean is dangerous.”

A Florida impact is likely along the state’s Gulf Coast.
