Don’t Lick the Batter

    A warning for bakers and those who like to lick the spoon.

    Cookie dough lovers cautioned not to sneak a taste as they whip up a batch or let anyone else do it. The Food and Drug Administration saying there’s an ongoing outbreak of illnesses related to a strain of E-coli bacteria found in some batches of flour. And that those who got sick ate or handled raw dough that contained flour made at a General Mills plant in Kansas City, Missouri.

    General Mills has voluntarily recalled 10 million pounds of flour sold under the Gold Medal, Gold Medal Wondra and Signature Kitchen Brands.

    The agency also warning against using the dough to make home crafts or giving kids raw dough such as play clay to handle
