Despite Emotional Testimony Pistorious Awaits Fate

After days of emotional testimony, Oscar Pistorius will learn his fate next month when a judge hands down his sentence.

FOX’s Paul Tilsley has more from Johannesburg:

Saying in his closing argument that Oscar Pistorius is a broken man, Barry Roux for the defense got a weeping Oscar Pistorius to take off his prosthetic legs and stagger around the court on his stumps. But prosecutor Gerry Nel came straight back and said it is Barry Steenkamp, the father of the girl Pistorius murdered, who is a broken man.

In reaction to requests by the defense that Pistorius gets a lenient sentence because he’s a victim, Nel responded that Reeva Steenkamp and her family are the real victims. And the prosecution has persuaded the judge that grisly photos of the crime scene should be made public so that, as Nel says, the world can see what Oscar Pistorius did to his girlfriend. The judge will hand down the sentence July 6.
