Dolphin Jumps Onto Boat, Injures Woman In CA

In California, a woman is recovering from an unusual encounter with a dolphin.

FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:

When Dirk Frickman took his family out to watch dolphins on Father’s Day it was…

(Dirk Frickman) “Like SeaWorld stuff. They were doing 360 back flips, like slow motion, right in front of the boat.”

    His wife Chrissie says:

(Chrissie Frickman) “I was thinking, wow, this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

Until one dolphin jumped too close…

(Chrissie Frickman) “I knew right away it was gonna come down in the boat.”

Right on top of her, breaking both of Chrissie’s ankles, but that wasn’t her immediate concern:

(Chrissie Frickman) “I was scared for the dolphin.”

It was stuck in the boat thrashing around. Its tail cut and bleeding.

(Dirk Frickman) “I got down and I petted that thing several times and said, you know, you’re gonna be alright.”

And it was. Orange County California sheriff’s deputies helped remove the boat’s seats and then, slid the dolphin back into the water and it swam away.
