Foul Play? FIFA Officials Arrested Over Corruption Charges

Did they rig the vote for soccer’s World Cup?

FOX News Radio’s Kitty Logan has more from the European bureau:

ahead of a FIFA meeting in Zurich.

They face extradition to the U.S. on 47 counts of corruption involving racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering.

The charges are in the U.S. because that is where some of the alleged crimes occurred.

Separate to the U.S. charges, Swiss authorities began criminal proceedings against individuals suspected of mismanaging the rights to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in Russia and Qatar.

A Russian official says the 2018 World Cup won’t be affected.
