If the midterm elections were held today, which political party would have the edge?

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has more on the latest FOX News Poll:

From America’s Election Headquarters.

With about four months to go until the midterms, recent FOX News polling finds there’s still lots of uncertainty, but one thing that has been consistent is that Republicans seem to have a greater interest in the upcoming elections than Democrats.

The latest poll found that 70% of Republicans and 56% of Democrats are extremely or very interested in the election — that’s a 14 point margin.

The President’s job approval numbers were also surveyed, and the poll finds that 42% approve, and 52% disapprove of his performance.

And most voters surveyed said if they were running for office, they wouldn’t want the President stumping for them — 41% said yes, but over half said no.
