There are no survivors in that plane crash in Mali, according to the French President. He’s sent French soldiers to secure the crash site.

Almost half of those on board the Air Algerie flight were French. President Francois Hollande says none of the 110 passengers or six crew survived the crash.

He sent about a hundred soldiers to secure the accident site in Northern Mali, and they have recovered the black box. French troops were already in the country fighting al-Qaeda-linked militants.

The pilot complained about bad weather shortly before the plane lost contact, but officials aren’t ruling out any potential causes of the crash, including terrorism.

The plane took off from Burkina Faso on the way to Algeria Wednesday night, but lost contact less than an hour into the flight.
