Wrigley Field Celebrates 100 Years [PHOTOS/VIDEO]

Wrigley Field

The iconic ballpark Wrigley Field celebrates 100 years in Chicago today.

FOX News Radio’s Jennifer Keiper reports from Wrigley Field in Chicago:

Back in 1914 it cost just $250,000 to build the stadium here on Chicago’s North Side.

Weeghman Park was renamed Wrigley Field in 1926 and fans say when they think of the park…

(Fan) “I think the ivy, in the outfield.”

(Fan) “Wow, just — it’s so beautiful and it has stayed beautiful.”

After the 1991 season, beloved WGN-TV Cubs broadcaster Harry Caray predicted…

(Caray) ”Too bad we couldn’t have had a victory that meant a Pennant — but that will come.”

And maybe that World Series championship will too. That wait is now up to 106 years.
