Study: BPA May Be Tied To Miscarriage Risk

    Chemicals Fertility

New research finds that a chemical found in many plastics may increase the risk of miscarriage for some women.

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers reports:

The research being presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine says BPA — short for bisphenol-A –could affect fertility and other aspects of health. Researchers say the work isn’t enough to confirm a link and that while the study is not cause for alarm, it’s far from reassuring that BPA is safe.

In recent years, BPA has been removed from baby bottles and many reusable drink containers. To minimize BPA exposure, researchers say you should avoid cooking or warming food in plastic because heat helps that chemical leak out. One unlikely place you’ll find BPA… Cash register receipts — they’re coated with resins that contain BPA.
