President Obama sits down with some members of Congress to talk about Syria as he seeks Congressional blessing for military action.

FOX News Radio’s Mike Majchrowitz reports from the White House:

House and Senate leaders and top committee members attended the morning meeting.

(President Obama) “It is appropriate that we act deliberately, but I also think everybody recognizes the urgency here and that we’re going to have to move relatively quickly.”

The President says he’s seeking authority for a military strike that’s limited and proportional and will degrade the Syrian regime’s capabilities. Arizona Republican Senator John McCain met with the President Sunday. He’s called for military action but says he won’t vote for just any resolution.

(McCain) “I am very worried about just one of these cosmetic kind of resolutions.”

Meanwhile, McCain welcomed news that the President is now willing to expand the list of lethal aid he’s willing to give the Syrian resistance.
