Baptists & Boy Scouts Breaking Ranks?

    Boyscouts

Baptists and Boy Scouts. They’ve always been allies, but that may be about to change.

FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom reports:

When the Boy Scouts changed their rules to allow for openly Gay Scouts, it was predicted that many churches that sponsor Scout troops would cut ties. And some have. Today, at its annual meeting in Houston, The Southern Baptist Convention takes up a non-binding resolution:

Page: “Expressing great dismay. And in all likelihood, calling for churches to prayerfully consider their actions in the days ahead.”

Frank Page, Director of the Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee, supports the move to have member churches drop their Scouting connections. In a statement, the Boy Scouts say they don’t believe Scouts; Gay or Straight should be having sex. And a fundamental principal of Scouting remains “Duty to God”.
