Arkansas Gets Tough On Abortion
Lawmakers in Arkansas vote to ban abortion after 12 weeks, giving the state some the toughest abortion law in the country.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:
Audio clip:
By twelve weeks, the fetus weighs about a half-ounce with eyes and ears, arms and legs and most of its systems in place.
And the Republican controlled House in Arkansas has voted to override Democratic Governor Mike Beebe’s veto. Making it law that after twelve weeks abortion is no longer a legal option. The 12-week ban won’t take effect until this summer.
Last week, the Arkansas legislature overrode Beebe’s veto of a ban on most abortions starting in the 20th week of pregnancy. The law took effect immediately.
The Governor and abortion right’s proponents say they expect both bans will be overturned in court.

The version of this story which aired half an hour ago on our station used different language from this transcript — all of it slanted 100% toward the anti-life POV — "pro-choice advocates", etc. Where is the fairness and the balance?
