This letter from the school is absolutly Crap!
It is not a form of abuse or neglect because I have been a victim of both physical and mental and also of neglect at home.
It is not the school system to decide the right weight of the child. My child is 5 and is built as an 8yr old and is built as a ballarina. It can be the child's genetic makeup, a medical condition that they have whether the school needs to know or not, or even a slow metabolism.
I had a couple of BEST friends that were a little over weight in school but they ate healthy, not junk food all day. Now, at my child's school they are not aloud to have candy brought for birthdays but yet she comes home for special holidays w bags of candy.
