Michigan Attorney General Says Referendum Guaranteeing Union Rights Too Complicated For Ballot
Republican Attorney General Bill Scheutte says the referendum is too complicated for the ballot, even though, with 700,000 signatures, it has twice the number needed. The spokesman for the petition organizers, Dan Lijana, says, “Silencing the voice of all voters on the basis of a faulty legal argument defies the spirit of democracy and protections offered to citizens by our constitution.”
