Cannon Explodes, Rips Through MA Home

A Massachusetts family is breathing a sigh of relief that their holiday plans took them out of state, and away from a very dangerous – and potentially deadly – situation.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:

Matt Williams returned to his Gardner home to find holes in a side wall.

(Williams) “Did someone shoot at the house?”

Not a gun, but a cannon that exploded in his neighbor’s yard.

(Williams) “It just went straight through a made a massive hole on the inside.”

One of the holes, just a foot from his 3-month-old son’s swing.

(Williams) “We actually found a big chunk of drywall in his swing.”

Neighbors say the shockwave was like a punch in the chest.

(Neighbor) “We all just kinda went, ‘Are we still here?’”

Cops came out to investigate…and the neighbor showed up at Williams’ door!

(Williams) “You could smell the alcohol the second I turned around.”

The moral of the story?

(Williams) “Alcohol and black powder don’t mix.”

Police say charges against the neighbor are pending.
