Blind Puppy Finds Home With Baseball Team
A blind puppy finds a new home as the unofficial mascot for a baseball team.
FOX News Radio’s Jane Metzler reports:
Audio clip:
His name is Stevie… and he is a wonder.
(Ely) “He has the best personality. The best outlook”
Pitcher John Ely with the Dodgers Triple A Club the Albuquerque Isotopes, fell in love with the blind shepherd mix puppy volunteering with the team at a local shelter. Stevie lost his sight in an accident and was wandering the streets.
Since Ely took him in:
(Ely) “He was all excited and fired up. Our clubhouse manager got us a name plate in line with all of the lockers so he’s basically just one of the guys now.”
Ely’s girlfriend takes care of Stevie Wonder when the team’s away. When they’re home, he’s at the stadium. And despite his blindness he does play ball.
