FL Governor Purged From Voter Rolls

The U.S. Department of Justice and the State of Florida are suing each other over Governor Rick Scott’s efforts to purge non-U.S. citizens from voter rolls.  Well, it turns out that Governor Scott knows a thing or two about being purged from the voter roll himself.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig reports:

Rick Scott was not yet the Governor of Florida when he arrived at his local polling location in 2006.

(Gov. Scott) “When I went to vote, they said that I had to vote provisionally because they said I had passed away.”

The Governor tells FOX News Radio affiliate WFLA that he cast his provisional ballot with the simple response…

(Gov. Scott) “I said I’m still alive.”

Turns out another Rick Scott with the same birthday had died.  As for legitimate voters who are concerned they could be purged from voter rolls in this effort, Governor Scott says he has a singular focus.

(Gov. Scott) “This is very simple to me, you know.  People that don’t have a right to vote – non-citizens – shouldn’t be voting in our races.”
