Police in southern California say a Federal immigration agent has been shot and killed inside his own home. The suspect, who is in custody, is the agent's teenage son.

Police got a 9-1-1 call late last night (Wednesday night) from a 14-year-old boy who reported a shooting inside his home in Carson, about 20 miles south of L.A. His father, a 40-year-old ICE agent, found shot in the head. Police say the bullet was fired through a window from the backyard of the home. The agent's son, later arrested.
(Francisco) "We're still working on the motive to this shooting. It's going to take, you know, numerous interviews and investigation to understand what the actual motive was."
L.A. County Sheriff's Department's Holly Francisco. The agent's name was not released. We're told he worked on investigations in the L.A.-area with the Department of Homeland Security.
