A school in Massachusetts wants to dump the word 'God' in one of the country's most patriotic songs.
FOX News Radio's Jeff Monosso reports:
(God bless the USA)
Lee Greewood's "God Bless the USA" topped the charts in the 80's and again following 9/11. And some parents in Bellingham, Massachusetts are outraged that a local school there want's to remove God from the classic tune.
(Parents) "God is God and he is a big part of the society." "I don't have a problem with the song."
The Stall Brook Elementary School wanted to replace "God bless the USA" with "we love the USA" but there's been mixed reaction.
(Parent) "It's a public school, if you want to have God in a song, go to a private school."
Since school officials couldn't make either side happy they made the decision to get rid of all songs during the school's assembly.
