Denver 911 Apologizes After Sending Road Rage Victim to Scene of His Murder [VIDEO]

A group of Colorado brothers flee from a road rage incident, only to be sent back by 911 dispatchers.  Now one of them is dead, shot and killed by the men they tried to flee from in the first place.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:

(Victim’s Brother) “They were calling us the “N-word,” even though we were trying to avoid the problem.”

So the group of Sudanese refugees drove away, calling 911.  But a Denver Police dispatcher reportedly told Jimma Reat and his brothers they needed to return to the city if they wanted help.

(Franssen) “Not to the same location that the altercation occurred, but inside the city boundaries of Denver.”

They reluctantly did, but encountered the original assailants, who opened fire, killing the 24-year-old Reat.  Denver 911 Operations Manager Ernest Franssen says proper procedures weren’t followed.

(Franssen) “We have policies in place for these types of situations.  Some of the policies do not appear to have been followed.”

The dispatcher has been placed on paid leave.

    Im sorry but id seek more than that employee being fired……I know suing wouldnt bring your brother back but id be suing there behinds!

    tragic incident, but I dont see how the Denver 911 should be held responsible, Denver is big enough where they didnt have to go to the same area they were in, it just says that 911 asked them to return to the city (i would assume to talk to police about the incident) they must have choose to return to the area that the altercation happened.. suing 911 isnt going to get you anywhere, people are too lawsuit happy these days. If you want real justice, it needs to come from the district attorney. obviously the 911 operator was just trying to help and do their job, I cant imagine how they must feel.

    I'm disgusted that the media is portraying the 911 operator in such a bad light. No one wants to comment that the victims followed and involved themselves in the argument. They refused to stop following or listening to the operator's instructions to stop engaging the other parties or mention that at one point all parties git out of their cars and were arguing. When you call 911 or are involved in any situation such as this a citizen has to accept responsibility for their actions.
