Housecall for Health: Working Causing Depression

A new study suggests that putting in an extra few hours in the office may have a negative effect on your health.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon explains in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

If you enjoy your job, but still feel unhappy, you may want to take a hard look at the hours you are working.  A study published by the non-profit Public Library of Science found that, although occasionally working overtime has its benefits, working 11 or more hours a day increased the risk of major depression.

Authors suggested the reasons could include strains on relationships or less time to unwind after work, which could elevate coritsol levels, leading to depression.
