What was supposed to be a New Year’s vacation turned into a harrowing story of survival for one woman after an extreme stunt went awry.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:
Audio clip:
22-year-old Erin Langworth joined friends to go bungee jumping over the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe when the fun turned to horror.
(Jump NATS) “Oh! No!”
The rope snapped, dropping the Australian tourist 65-feet into the water.
(Langworth) “Went black straight away, and I felt like I’d been slapped all over.” After struggling with rapids, Langworth made it to the river’s edge, where rescuers laid her on her back.(Langworth) “All the water that I’d inhaled meant that I couldn’t breathe, so I made them roll me onto my side. And that’s when I started coughing out water and blood.”
Langworth somehow escaped serious injury, heading home after a week in the hospital.
(Langworth) “I think it’s definitely a miracle that I survived.”

Now I am more afraid then I was to ever bungee jump. Glad she survived to talk about it.
