iPricey: Apple Contract Sells for $1.6 Million at Auction

It’s just a piece of paper.  But this particular piece of paper has a history that brought big bucks on the auction block in New York on Tuesday.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:

The original Partnership Agreement for Apple Computers, signed by founders Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, was expected to fetch only $100,000 at auction at Sotheby’s, but it blew right past that estimate. ($350,000) And kept on going. ($750,000 to Kate) And going. ($1,250,000)

The document finally selling for $1.6 million.

(Austin) “Well, it certainly reflects the love that a lot of people have for Apple as a brand, and as an idea.”

…Richard Austin at Sotheby’s.  Wayne kept the agreement when he gave up his share of the company.  Wealthy South American CEO Eduardo Cisneros had the winning bid.
