Securing America: Hasan In Court

A Military Judge is considering whether or not the U.S. Government should pay for Defense Experts in the trial of the Army Psychiatrist accused of the Fort Hood shootings.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown has more in our ongoing series on national security:

Lawyers for accused Fort Hood gunman, Army Major Nidal Hasan, are hoping a Military Judge will agree that the U.S. Government should pay for both a Jury Consultant and Pre-Trial Publicity Expert.  The Judge has yet to rule on the matter.  They say they need both to make sure the Military court-martial panel will be fair to Hasan, and that they would be willing to consider a life sentence instead of a death penalty; which could be the case if Hasan is found guilty of thirteen premeditated murders and thirty-two attempted murders during the massacre on the Army post nearly two years ago.
