#Twoppics – Undocumented Immigrant, Tom Hanks, Glen Campbell

Twoppics, the stories behind the hottest topics on Twitter…

Audio clip:

Your twoppic of the moment is Undocumented Immigrant.  Jose Vargas is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist with the New York Times, and has revealed in an in-depth column that he is, in fact, an undocumented immigrant.  From his discovery that his green card was fake when he tried to get a driving permit, to how he got his job, the piece chronicles his life carrying this secret.  The story has touched off an immigration reform debate on Twitter, but also inspired some, including @moniguzman

and AOL co-founder Steve Case

Your twoppic of the day is the newest Spanish morning TV star…Tom Hanks…  Hanks even tweeted multiple times about his morning’s adventure…

And the Twittersphere just can’t get enough, including @KWebbpr007

and @KelliZink

Your top twoppic is Glen Campbell… The country music legend has announced he has Alzheimers.  At 75, Campbell has suffered from short-term memory loss for years, but says he was diagnosed with the disorder six months ago.  He’s releasing a final album this August and planning a multi-city farewell tour.  His wife, Kim, says they decided to go public with his condition because they didn’t want people thinking he was drunk on stage if he were to flub lyrics during a show.  Campbell has won multiple Grammy and CMA Awards in his nearly 50-year career, thanks to hits like “Rhinestone Cowboy.”  He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. Reaction on Twitter is coming from @ashmont

and fellow country stars The Oak Ridge Boys
