How about the freedom to breathe clean air? Secondhand smoke causes asthma and other lung diseases. I have asthma and every time I eat at an outdoor restaurant or even sit in a public area, I have to get up and move when someone is smoking! This makes me feel like Rosa Parks did when she had to sit at the back of the bus & I am tired of it!!! It is time smokers & the govt. think about other people, especially children. If individuals want to smoke, do it in private in your their home. Ever heard of the statement, "treat people the way you want to be treated"? It's like non-smokers going up to a smoker and passing smelly farts in the smoker's space. How would a smoker feel? No one wants to smell or breathe in odors that others cause. It is too bad that people can't have a consideration for others or manners.

It not about health issues… I'm sure about that. It is all about control- the mentality that "I don't like it, so lets ban it". Lets also ban sweets, fried foods, cars, pools, alcohol, personal hygiene products, ect…. due to health risks they all may inccur…. Really – quit whining already!!!! I am a non-smoker, but am ashamed of the way other non-smokers act. There are MANY other issues we could be focusing on. Let them have their space!!!!
