TEA PARTIERS PICK CONSERVATIVE PURITY OVER ELECTABILITY!

How pure is pure enough? That’s the question facing Tea Partiers today. Christine O’Donnell, the Tea Party candidate in Delaware, beat the Republican establishment candidate, and the conservatives are whooping it up because she beat a moderate Republican who was a shoo –in to win in November.

However, it appears that Ms. O’Donnell has little or no chance of winning the general election and therefore her name on the ballot insures a Democrat controlled United States Senate. Karl Rove, Charles Krauthammer, Chris Christie and others say so, but the Republican primary voters in Delaware evidently do not care.

Ms. O’Donnell is an attractive candidate and she’s going to need every ounce of that charisma and charm to overcome the train that follows her loaded with baggage. More than any other Tea Party candidate this year she personifies the Republican that Democrats most like to run against.

The voters decided for her. OK, I’ll accept it. But don’t come crying to me when she loses to a Democrat. I woulda told ya that was going to happen.

I know nothing about either candidate, but I think a valid argument can be made that it is worth losing a race or two to shake up the Republican leadership. The lesson is taught here is that just because you are "electable" and have an (R) on the ticket doesn't mean you automatically get our vote. This article says it better than I. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/sep/15/t
