President Obama’s team is giddy with delight over Congressman Joe Barton’s hamfisted apology to BP. The Obama political hit men have finally found a way to get the oil off the President and on to someone else, or so they think.
Republican Joe Barton’s apology to BP was stupid, but let’s remember he’s not President of the United States. He’s just a congressman. Meanwhile, the President’s Coast Guard actually stopped sixteen oil sucking barges from going to work in Louisiana yesterday because Coast Guard officers couldn’t reach the builders of the barges to see if they had enough life preservers and fire extinguishers. For 24 hours the barges sat, and the oil continued to come ashore.
The other morning Rudy Giuliani said if Bush faced the same oil spill and responded as Obama has, they’d be impeaching him already. Rudy was right. But this President gets a pass.
