The beer summit has come and gone and I refuse to make a bunch of bad puns about it… though I was amused with the names suggested to Dana Milbank in the Washington Post. “Yes, Three Cans” was my personal favorite. “Ménage a Stella Artois” was also a great one. And “A Thousand points of Bud Light” wasn’t too bad either.
In any case, it turned out to be nothing more than one giant dumb photo op. And nothing came out of it as far as I was concerned. Big time Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. did not apologize to the cop whom he racially profiled, and President Obama did not apologize to the cop whom he racially profiled
When it was all over Professor gates, that poor downtrodden put-upon black man who was shocked to find that the facts of the incident revealed he was the racial profiler rather than the white cop, flew off to Martha’s Vineyard for his annual vacation with the swells, the elites, the way- better- than- you people. The president will be joining him later in August at a $50k a week rehabilitated farmhouse. Biden will be god knows where and Crowley the cop will be back in Cambridge sweating out more calls with more people trying to make a racial mountain out of a non-racial molehill.
No apologies. Not that Crowley should have apologized… but no apology from Gates, who blatantly racially profiled the white cop? Disappointing, to say the least.
