Hmmmmm

I received an email the other day that caused me to nearly jump out of my chair. The American Idol finalists were going to perform “Shout to the Lord” during the Idol Gives Back show. The song is a very popular Christian praise and worship tune. I was pleasantly surprised that American Idol would select such a powerful and decidedly Christian song to perform.

The kids did an outstanding job — along with the gospel choir — but was it just me — or did someone change the lyrics to the song?

The opening line is, “My Jesus, My Saviour, Lord there is none like you.” Instead, they sang, “My Shepherd….”

I wonder why they changed that one particular word? Hmmm.

Oddly enough, on Thursday night, the American Idol kids sang it again but this time, they used the word, “Jesus.”

Very interesting.
